Gigi, The Little Giraffe

In a forest, a gorgeous little giraffe ran through the trees, smelling the leaves, the flowers and all she could find around. She was very young and everything was a novelty to her.

She ran into a bunny and asked:

- Hello! I'm Gigi. Do you want to play?

The rabbit moved his little nose and wagged his tail, then said, belittling her:

- I can't play with you, Gigi. You are too big and clumsy!

Gigi lowered her massive neck and walked away feeling very sad.

Further ahead, she found a pond and saw a young frog resting. She approached him, introduced herself and

invited him to play.

The young frog, who slept satisfied after eating many insects, opened his large eyes to see who was talking, then answered:

- Be serious, Gigi! How can I play with a little giant giraffe? Besides, I'm resting.

Once again, Gigi walked away sad, hanging her head, but soon found an unknown animal. Curious, she asked:

- Hello! I am Gigi, the little giraffe! And who are you? Do you want to play?

- I am Ball, the little bear. I can't play with you, Gigi. You are too tall.

Gigi turned to leave, discouraged for not finding a friend to play with. Suddenly, she felt a different smell and full of fear shouted:

- Run! A tiger is coming around looking for food! Run! Run! ...

More than quickly, the rabbit got into his lair, the frog plunged into the pond, and the bear climbed a tall tree. And Gigi, with her long legs, ran back home.

The huge tiger passed by at great speed and went away.

The animals came out of their hiding places and gathered.

The bear cub said:

- If it weren't for Gigi we would now be tiger food!

The others nodded in agreement, sorry for the way they had treated her. So, they decided to look for the little giraffe. After much walking, they saw Gigi picking leaves from a tree to eat, along with her mother.

They approached and, ashamed, thanked her for saving them from the tiger. Then the little bear proposed:

- Gigi, would you like to play hide and seek with us?

- Come on! - they all insisted.

She nodded, satisfied and happy, seeing that she was not being rejected anymore.

- So, I'll look for you! - the bear cub said, hiding his face in the trunk of a tree and counting to ten: One, two, three... ten. Here I come!

The bear cub started searching and the first one he found was Gigi because it was hard for her to go unnoticed with her size. She gave up all happy.

- Now it's your turn, Gigi. Hide your face and start counting!

Soon, Gigi went in search of her friends. As she was tall, it was not hard for her to see where they were but she pretended she could not see them.

- Where are you...? - she screamed until, after a long time, sticking her head in a tuft of grass she could find one.

Her friends loved playing with Gigi. She was friendly, cheerful, a good companion, and she became beloved by all.

Thus the little rabbit, the young frog and the bear cub understood that they should not make hasty judgement of anyone.

All animals are different from each other, but each one has their qualities when we get to know them.

One day, Gigi came in with a new friend, who she introduced to the group:

- Guys, this is Dina, the jaguar cub! I found her crying, very sad, because they killed her mother. Dina is alone

in the world and needs friends!

The others exchanged glances, then ran to embrace their new friend.

- Welcome to our group, Dina! - they yelled happily embracing her.
