The parable of the talents and what we have been done
 

Years ago it came to speak in our region a renowned spirit speaker rooted in the city of São Paulo. In one of the cities in which he uttered vibrant lecture the audience was very small and there was no audience in more than ten people.

After his lecture, a friend, who had moved the speaker to that location, talked about it and lamented. After all the visitor had come from far away, had left his affairs and the comfort of their own home, and yet, the townspeople did not value, as they should, his presence.

After he heard these words, the speaker turned to his friend and said: "Do you know how many people Cairbar Schutel lectured at the beginning of his work in the harvest spirit? And Chico Xavier? How many times he read and commented on the Gospel for empty hall! Now if Cairbar and Chico experienced it, who are we to regret such things?!"

This issue was raised due to a very common fact that occurs in spirits labors, where many workers - lecturers, study coordinators, evangelists and workers in general - give up certain task due to the small number of people or children who attend the activity they perform.

The spirit volunteer of the task often starts with all the enthusiasm, but then discouraged, understanding that it is not worth moving from their home to participate in an activity that considers unimportant...

In the well-known parable of the talents, annotated by Matthew chapter 25, vv. 14-30 of his Gospel, there is a passage that we should always have in view. We refer to the phrase that was spoken by the Lord to his servant: "Good and faithful servant, because thou hast been faithful in that little thing, trust thee many others, shares the joy of thy lord."

When we are invited to work in the Christian harvest, it does not matter how many adults and how many children will be attended. What matters is our participation, it is our commitment, the willingness with which we perform the task, because all the work done with love and selflessness have equal weight, if it is in a great institution located in the Capital of the Republic, or in a simple spiritist home located on the periphery of any of the cities in Brazil or abroad.

Being faithful in the task that we assume humble or unimportant, we are preparing ourselves to more complex tasks or to greater responsibility that one day it will certainly be delegated to us.
