An idea to be imitated

Our disclaimer to the current format of so-called spirit congresses remains and they are well known to our readers. It is not possible, however, let to recognize and commend four points which gave, in our view, at the 31º Spirit Congress in Goiás a different tone, worthy to be imitated.

The Goiás event is the central theme of the interview given to us by Ivana Leal Silva Raisky, current president of the federal in Goiás. It was edited by our collaborator Orson Peter Carrara, the interview is one of the highlights of this edition.

Here are the points we refer to:

• Accommodation of congressmen coming from the countryside.

With the support of Spirit Home Francisca de Lima, where childhood programming was carried out, and the Christian Spirit Irradiation, which allowed the organizers to use the Educational Institute Emmanuel was possible to house 300 congressmen during the congress, which were offered breakfast and dinner, plus transport, facilitating the mobility of all.

• Universal event.

It was understood that not all spirits could attend the congress in person, either for lack of space incorporating so many people, either for financial reasons, the organizing committee invested in the transmission of the event in real time over the Internet and offered the necessary support to various spirit institutions in Goiás so the activities of the Congress were passed in their auditoriums, thereby providing, to interested parties to carry out the programming.

• Opening to spirit youth.

It was remarkable in Congress the youth participation throughout the event organization process. The doctrinal youth programming, given the theme "Heaven and Hell: myth or reality", in commemoration of the sesquicentennial of the basic work of Allan Kardec, it was the highlight of the congress. The theme of the adults came from the proposal submitted by the doctrinal committee of the youth.

• Interfaith Panel.

New experience in events like this, but it has been done successfully in the Movement You and Peace, coordinated by Divaldo Franco, it is always welcome the idea of interreligious panel, which featured in Goiás Congress the participation of a pastor, a priest and a sister, in addition to spirits. The panel, as expected, further enriched the reflections on the central theme of the congress: "Heaven and Hell: myth or reality?".

The spirit press, as it should take place in the general press, has to criticize wrong or misleading things that occur here and there, but they cannot let to highlight the correct initiatives that can contribute to a better world. After all, this is our purpose.

The experience of Goiás spiritist movement deserves so all our support and a live hope that it will inspire similar events that will be held here or abroad.
