The ultimate travel luggage

Every time someone part to the so-called spiritual world, a journey that we all do one day, there is usually an inevitable question: What would be the deceased's luggage on his return to the true homeland?

The same question was formulated then in just an interesting lecture on the exhibitor, by focusing on the topic of death and reincarnation, wrote on the blackboard:

  • Death: passage of the spirit to spiritual life.
  • Reincarnation: passage of spirit to Earth life.

In both situations, the same doubt. What is the baggage of the individual who part and luggage it will bring in his return to a new bodily existence?

The subject seems unimportant, but, in fact, it is not, and it has much deeper implications for life and the world we live in.

When this text was written, the headline of the leading journals referred to the death of two important figures of Brazilian society, both successful in the professional field and in their business. Wealthy people, what luggage would they have taken in their return to spiritual home?

The spiritual doctrine, by the voice of several of its disembodied instructors, shows us a different side with respect to what we understand by real estate.

According to this view, we have only fully owned what we can take from this world. Therefore, all that is on the matter of matter does not truly belong to us. It is a mere loan, a deposit, as such, we should return to the true owner.

He who on earth was named Pascal examined this important subject in the message that we reproduce below:

"Man only has full ownership in what is given him to take from this world. What he finds when arrives and leaves he enjoys it while here remains. Stressed, however, that he has to abandon all that, he does not have their riches to actual possession, but simply the enjoyment. Which is then what he has? Nothing what it is body use; all that is the soul of use: intelligence, knowledge, moral qualities. That's what he brings and takes with him, which no one can snatch, which it will be much use in the other world than this. It depends on it to be richer at leaving than getting here. As it seems that which he has acquired in well, it will result its future position.

When someone goes to a distant country, its luggage has usable objects in that country; it does not care about them that would be useless. Follow the same way with the life to come; be prepared of all that ye will serve you there.

The traveler arriving at a hostel, good accommodation is given if he can afford it. The other, with scarce resources, plays a less pleasant. As for what has nothing, it will sleep on a pallet.

The same applies to the man on his arrival in the spirit world: depends on his assets the place to go. It will not, however, with his gold he will pay. No one will ask: How much did you have on earth? Which position were you? Were you a prince or worker? It will be asked: What do you bring with you? Will not be evaluated the property or securities, but the sum of the virtues you have. Now, in this aspect, the worker may be richer than the prince. In vain allege that before from Earth paid their weight in gold the entrance in the other world. It will be replied: Spaces here are not bought: it is won up through the practice of good. With the Earth's currency, thou able to buy fields, houses, palaces; here, everything is paid for with the qualities of the soul. Are you rich on these qualities? Be welcome and go to one of the first category places where you expect all ventures. Are you poor one? Go to one of the last, where you will be treated according to your belongings." - Pascal, Geneva, 1860. (The Gospel According to Spiritism, chapter. XVI, item 9.) (the bold is ours.)

Intelligence, knowledge, and moral qualities - that is the luggage from whom goes and comes. Enlarge this luggage must therefore be our primary goal.

If the new generations take seriously such ideas, it will have taken a big step on the path leading to the elimination of greed, avarice, corruption, social inequality and all forms of prejudice that exist on our planet.
