Let’s do our part, while
there is still time

Once again a tragedy brings pain to the Brazilian people. This time the scenario was the city of Niteroi, in which hundreds of people perished due to landslides caused by heavy rain which occurred on the 06th, 07th and 08th of April in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis and storms ever seen have been happening every month, and are making a succession of new victims.

When will the next one happen? People are asking themselves.

A famous chronicler from Rio de Janeiro has observed that the dichotomy of the human condition has been revealed in these episodes, in its main aspects: good and evil.

Both in Haiti and in Chile, and now in Niteroi, the acts of solidarity and selflessness coming from the simplest people were remarkable.

In Niteroi, even before the rescue teams arrived, the local people have ventured themselves in order to save those who were buried. Yet at the same time and same scenario, there was also the savagery of the assaults and looting, showing both sides of the human condition, a characteristic of this planet which is, as everyone knows, to have people in many different evolutionary stages.

In Rio, recalled the chronicler, the cars which were abandoned on flooding were robbed, as well as the supermarkets in Chile and Haiti. Whilst there are people making sacrifices to save lives and give examples of solidarity and love, on the other hand, there are vandals who have no respect for others and that use the tragedy as an opportunity to take advantage of people.

In Haiti, as we know, because of the earthquake there were military forces from other countries, like Brazil, which were there to prevent the start of a Civil War.
The facts produced by nature and the acts performed by men should have – and certainly have - an intimate relationship, because we learn from Jesus and the immortals that everything happens for a reason, if the seeding is free, collection is mandatory.

On the 18th April it will be celebrated the 153 years of the advent of Spiritism. We should meditate about the things we have done and do not ignore the objectives that brought us to this world.

Nobody is here on holidays, warn the immortals.

The Earth is a blessed school that provides us the resources we need in order to progress and reach the long-sought goal.

Let’s take the chance our Father gave us and let’s do our part, before it is too late and the regret overwhelms our soul.
