The frog

Once upon a time, a group of boys decided to swim at a small lake located in the surroundings of the city. The lake turned out to be a welcoming place in such a hot and sunny day….

They played a lot and heard a sound: quack... quack...

They paid attention to it once more. They heard again: quack... quack...

The boys got impatient and searched for the place where the sound was coming from. They found it! In the middle of the leaves there he was....

— A frog! — They screamed.

It was green with big eyes, standing on its front paws.

— Let’s catch it! — One said.

— Let’s hurt it! — The other screamed.

— Let’s kill it! — One screamed.

Richard, who was more sensitive and generous, looked at the poor animal who was foreseeing the danger. He realised the frog looked at him as if screaming for help.

The other boys came close to the frog with stones and pieces of wood. Richard then said:

— Leave the poor animal alone! Don’t you see it is scared? I am going for a swim. Who wants to join me?

The frog managed to run to the leaves again, in the meantime.

Richard came from a poor family. His mother was a widow who fought daily to maintain her family. He went to school everyday to learn and progress in life in order to help his family.

He also did small jobs to get some money and be able to help at home. A few days later, Richard was coming back home from work, feeling tired and smelly. The day was extremely hot outside.

He decided to go back to the lake in order to refresh himself. He sat at the lake, took his shoes off and placed his feet at the water. He decided to wash his hands. Whilst doing it, one coin he had on his pocket went straight into the water.

He felt nervous about it. He needed to get his coin back. He couldn’t go home without it. He worked all afternoon to earn that money. His mom needed it.

Richard jumped into the water to search for it. Therefore, he wasn’t able to find it! It disappeared in the middle of the sand and stones. He came out of the lake, sat down and felt sad about it. He would need to go home empty-handed.

He meditated for a while and then heard a noise: quack... quack...

He looked up and saw the frog, next to him. His beautiful coin was placed in the grass, close to the frog. He smiled and felt as if the frog was smiling back at him.

He thanked the frog, grabbed him kindly and touched it with kindness. Suddenly, the frog jumped from his hand into the fields and made another noise: quack, quack...

Richard went back home meditating on his dad’s teachings. He was now disincarnated and used to say to him, regarding

Jesus’ teachings:

— Do to others what you would like to be done to you, my son. Every good or bad action done returns to us, at all times.
