Letter to the reader

Year 16 - 811 - February 19, 2023

There is something new and special in the children that are landing

The perception that the children who are coming to Earth bring something different is examined by our collaborator, Maria de Lurdes Duarte, a teacher in Arouca, Portugal, in the special “What children are these?” With 38 years of experience in the education field, she says that today's children are not like the children at the beginning of her career, an observation that is constantly repeated by her fellow educators. The article is one of the highlights of this issue.

Another highlight is the interview given to us by Silvia Helena Visnadi Pessenda, from São Paulo based in Rio Claro (SP). A spiritist by birth and with extensive experience in spiritist work, she works in various spiritist institutions in her city, as a speaker that is always in demand, although all her doctrinal training took place at the Spiritists Home (Casa dos Espíritas), a traditional institution in the city.

Last year, a survey carried out by the Datafolha institute regarding the religiosity of the Brazilian people revealed that the percentage of young people 'without religion' in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo is higher than the percentages for Catholics and Evangelicals. In a special article, Thiago Bernardes examines the subject and its possible causes.
