Letter to the reader

Can most deaths be effectively prevented?

This issue is examined by our collaborator Jorge Hessen, who is part of the Editorial Board of this magazine, in the Special “Mens sana in corpore sano or premature disincarnation”, one of the highlights of this edition. The thesis that most deaths can be avoided and that we die from foolish causes that can be prevented belongs to Jan Garavaglia, head of the Florida Department of Legal Medicine (USA). In his article, Hessen makes considerations on the subject in the light of spiritist teachings.

Our interviewee today is the teacher, now retired, Neiva Amarante, from Americana (SP). She is graduated in Letters (Portuguese and English), she worked over the years in several cities in São Paulo as a teacher and also as an evangelist in several spiritist centers. Linked to the Spiritist Center Paz e Amor, in her city, she works in the application of passes, in study groups and also in Fraternal Assistance.

Last month, at the Novotel da Vila Guilherme, in the north of the capital of São Paulo, the Reencontro workshop was held, promoted by the André Luiz Spiritist Foundation. Participating in the event were psychologists Ildo Rosa, Adriana Morales and Danny Vox, journalist Vivian Barbosa and physicians Sérgio Felipe de Oliveira and Aniete Roma, as shown in a report signed by Erika Silveira.
