Animals at spiritual life

In consoling a boy whose dog had died, the pope Francisco surprised everyone who heard and Catholics around the world: "One day, we will see our animals again in the eternity of Christ. Paradise is open to all God's creatures.."

The phrase was said last month, in a public appearance in St. Peter's Square, and reproduced by the press of several countries.

As reported by The New York Times, the pope's statement was strongly resonate with activists of protection NGOs to animal rights, as The Humane Society and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).

The issue has been discussed in this magazine numerous times.

The animals are, according to the spiritual doctrine, evolving beings. Endowed with soul, they are our fellow travelers and deserve to be respected and, above all, loved.

What happens to them when their corporeal existence cease?

This is the issue that concerns all who love animals, as it is the child's case that the Catholic Pontiff sought to comfort.

After its bodily death, animals’ souls keep the individuality and although there are many fallow to reincarnation almost imediately, as it is said in the questions 598 and 600 from The Spirit’s Book, there are some which stay in spiritual life where – coarted with their spiritual body – develop duties according to experiences they have conquered until then.

In the book Evolution in two Worlds – chapter XIII part 1 - (Evolução em dois Mundos) by André Luiz, says that domesticated animals by human intelligence can stay in spiritual plane for an especific time, focus on their upgrading. After it, they return to their core source in Earth, to go forward, being offsetting with valuable purifying acquisition, through it helps terrestrial fauna with benefits of so-called spontaneous mutations.

The brought information by André Luiz is supported by many authors, which gives the theory the sanction of the facts.(1)

Here are some testimonies:

1. In the book Testimonies of Chico Xavier, Suely Caldas Schubert, read the following testimony of Chico Xavier: "In 1939, my brother Joseph left me one of those faithful friends (a dog). His name was Lord and was my companion, including in prayers, because at night, it stood together to me, in silence, listening to music. In 1945, after a long illness, he died. But at the last moment, I saw the Spirit of my brother approaching and taking it by force to the inert body and, for a few months, when Joseph in spirit, came to me, was always accompanied by it, who introduced me to the spiritual vision with insignificant difference. I dare to tell you my experiences, because you also went through the pain of losing a loyal friend dog. Usually when we talk about the survival of animals, many smiles and addresses pity attitudes." (Testimonies of Chico Xavier, Suely Caldas Schubert, p. 283, 2nd edition.)

2. In the Revue Spirite of May 1865, Allan Kardec published a letter from a magazine correspondent based in Dieppe, which refers to the manifestation of puppy Mika, so disembodied, a fact that was perceived by the author of the report, by his wife and by a daughter who was sleeping in the next room.

3. The spiritist researcher Ernesto Bozzano, author of the book Animali and Manifestazioni metapsichici, published in 1923, recounts several cases of animal souls that were seen or heard by one or more people, worth mentioning that the Father Herman Spirit, author and main character of the classic Memories of Father Herman, always presented himself to Chico Xavier and to Divaldo Franco, accompanied by his dog, the faithful friend Sultan.

4. Divaldo Franco, in an interview published in issue 51 of this magazine, said: "Personally, I have had several experiences with animals, especially dogs disembodied, who remain in the spiritual world for some time." 5. André Luiz says in one of his books the visit the Bacelar couple and two Young girls from the colony "Field of Peace" did to Ismália and Alfredo. They were transported to the station in a beautiful car, drawn by two superb white horses. The vehicle was almost identical to the old public service cars at the time of Louis XV. (The Messengers, ch. 28, pp. 149 to 153.)

6. In his first work, André Luiz says one of the paramedics caravans of the Samaritans group had six large cars in diligence format, that preceded by packs of cheerful rowdy dogs, were driven by animals similar to terrestrial mules. Flocks of bulky body birds flew at close range, above the cars. They were called wayfarers ibis, excellent auxiliary of the Samaritans, by devouring the hateful and perverse mental forms issued by the umbralinas regions. Narcisa explained at that time that at the Ministry of Enlightenment are located parks of study and experimentation, where it could be collected further information on existing animals in "Our Home". (Our Home, ch. 33, pp. 183 and 184.)

7. In 1918, in his book Spiritism for children, Cairbar Schutel wrote: "So there are houses, trees, flowers, parks, animals? And why not? Once we get there we will see all these, and, in proportion to our advance, we will find, beyond these spheres, other worlds even more refined and rarefied." (Spiritism for children, ch. 6.)

The pope Francisco, by sight, was not mistaken when transmitting the boy the idea that he can, yes, review one day the little dog that left.
