Precepts of light

We are on the eve of another Christmas, a time of year it is always good to remember the teachings of Jesus and his real importance in our lives.

In chapter XVIII The Gospel According to Spiritism, Kardec entered three of these teachings, which we consider as the most significant among all the Master of Nazareth bequeathed to humanity.

Lets remember which they are and what they say:

1 - Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter through it. Narrow, however, it is the gate and tight is the way of life, and few there be that find it. Matthew, 7:13-14

2 - Not everyone who says to Me: Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that Day: Lord, Lord, we do not preach in your name, and it was not in your name cast out demons and perform many miracles? And yet, I shall tell them, I’ve never known you. Depart from me, evil workers! Matthew, 7:21-23

3 - He therefore who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and upon that house; it, however, did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and upon that house; it fell and great was its ruin. Matthew, 7:24-27

In the first text, the recommendation of Jesus is directly and shows how difficult it is for the human creature to overcome the hardships of life and find the right one that will lead to victory and to the achievement of the goal for which man has been created.

In the second, we face a warning, certainly the most serious of all that were said by Jesus and the prophets. Entry into the celestial kingdom requires that a condition is fulfilled and only one:. Doing the will of God, our Father. It is not simply to believe or accept, but do something that is very different than the dogmatic religions have been teaching; which contributed to the moral bankruptcy that face in countries like Brazil and Italy, in which almost all the inhabitants said being adherent of Christianity.

In the third teaching, Jesus draws a comparison and again emphasizes the need to practice what we read in the Gospel, not just believe in it. Those who practice is like a wise man. Who does not practice it is treated as a foolish individual.

Precepts of light!

We believe that there is no better title to name the teachings herein analyzed.

Meditate on the depth of them and seek to assimilate them and put them in execution it will be the best tribute we can pay to dear friend whose birthday we celebrate every year on Christmas Day.
