A farewell to a good man

On the last 6th day, we said goodbye to an extraordinary person, Euclides Alves de Araújo, who returned to the spiritual homeland after 92 years of a fruitful existence. His disembodiment occurred in the city of Londrina.

Mineiro from Muzambinho, Euclides was born on November 29th, 1920, on the farm Barra de São Domingos, situated 11 km from the downtown.

From Minas, where he worked for about 10 years in the activity of pharmacy officer, he came to Paraná, performing for 45 years the same profession, developed mostly in the city of Londrina, where he continued to live even after retirement.

Talking about his activities in the spiritist field would require a headspace bigger than this editorial. We will therefore here only a simple registration.

Founder and president of the Relief Post Dr. Bezerra de Menezes, former adviser for several presidencies of Our Home Spiritual Center and cofounder of SEPS - Spiritist Society of Social Promotion and Christian Spiritist Communion of Londrina, Euclides tied in more directly in recent years of his existence to the Love and Charity Spiritist Center, located in Jardim Califórnia.

In 2003, the esteemed friend realized an old dream: the publication of his book "Evolution Dynamic", whose rights were transferred free for him to Christian Spiritist Communion of Londrina.

The book portrays very well the heart of him who wrote it.

He knew Spiritism in 1954, when he was 33 years old, Euclides did not allow himself to stop, as often happens with many in the exclusive practice of mediumship.

Although he had done mediumship as a helpful field to many, creating in his own home, with his wife Jacyra, a spiritual help place, he surrendered in parallel to the in-depth study of the doctrine he embraced; a voracious reader who had always been until the point to build a personal library of about 950 works.

The origin of his book takes us to the remote 1963, when Euclides read an article published by Reader's Digest which narrated the story of a trial that took place in the United States, in which a teacher was questioned about teaching his students the theory of Darwin evolution.

Touched with the case, turned it into lecture he delivered in numerous spiritists houses around the region. Years later, encouraged by friends, he decided to turn it into a book. Thus was born the book "Evolution Dynamic", in which he discusses many concepts presented by the Encoder of Spiritism, with dedication, balance and enthusiasm that characterized him.

Once it was asked to Emmanuel if the human soul can rise to God solely with the moral progress without values intellective.

The loving spiritual mentor from Chico Xavier then replied:

"The feeling and wisdom are the two wings with which the soul will rise to infinite perfection. In the cramped circle of the terrestrial globe, both are classified as moral and intellectual advancement, but as we are examining the values of the world itself, in particular, we must recognize that both are essential to progress, being fair, but considering the superiority of the first on the second, because the intellectual part without morality can offer numerous fall prospects, in repeating experiments, whereas moral advancement will never be excessive, representing the core of the most important evolutionary energies." (The Comforter, issue 204.)

Well. Our friend Euclides Alves de Araújo, who left us last week, was an example of someone who met the two qualities mentioned by Emmanuel, because he was not only a wise man, but also a generous and loving creature, who knew how to spread well for all the places where he walked and, therefore, let us all, friends and family, an immense longing.
