Text for reading

340. Should not be taken as a contradiction which often is only part of the preparation of the truth. All spirits have their assigned task by God and play under the conditions they deem appropriate to the good of which they receive communications. (Item 301, question 3)

341. The contradictions, even apparent, may cast doubt on the Spirit of some people. That means checking one can have, then, to know the truth? To discern truth from error, it is necessary that the answers are thorough and meditated long and seriously. It is a complete study to be made. For that, you need time. (Item 301, question 4)

342. Study, compare, study. Incessantly tell you that knowing the truth only at this price you get. How would wish to come true, when it is interpreted according to your ideas? Gone, however, is not the day that the teaching of the Spirits is everywhere uniform, so the minutiae, like the main points. Their mission is to destroy the error, but you cannot make it but gradually. (Item 301, question 4)

343. There are people who have neither the time nor the skills needed for a serious and thorough study and examination without accepting everything that teaches them. What to do then? Kardec The Spirits answered: "To do good and not do evil - is essential. Therefore, no two doctrines. Goodness is always good, whether done in the name of Allah, or in the name of Jehovah, since that there is one God for the universe. "(Item 301, question 5)

344. The motive of finding ideas evidently false communications of spirits who seem to developed intelligence is that they have their doctrines. Those who are not well advanced, and think they are, take their ideas for their own truth. That which is between men. (Item 301, question 6)

345. Go up in the world of spirits things very hard to understand. There are spirits, as occurs among men who delight to keep men in ignorance, appearing to instruct them, and taking advantage of the ease with which his words are accredited. Can then entice those who do not descend to the bottom of things, but when reasoning are taken to the wall, not long sustain the role. (Item 301, question 9)

346. It should also take into account the prudence that generally the spirits use in the promulgation of truth: a light and very much alive overshadows sudden, is not clear. They may therefore in certain cases, the judge should not spread only gradually, according to the times, places and people. Moses did not teach everything that Christ taught and Christ himself said many things whose intelligence has been reserved for future generations. (Item 301, question 9)

347. Men admire that the principle of reincarnation has not been taught in some countries. Let us remember, however, that in a country where prejudice reigns sovereignly color, where slavery took root in customs, Spiritualism would have been repelled only by proclaiming the reincarnation because they seem monstrous, it is you, the idea of become a slave. It was becoming better accepted first general principle, for later if you take the consequences? (Item 301, question 9)

348. Oh! men! Our view is short, enjoy the designs of God! We know that nothing is done without your permission and without an end that most often cannot penetrate. The unit will be in the Spiritualist belief; sure that we stay well be, that dissent, as shallower, will turn off bit by bit, as the men to clarify, and eventually disappear completely. This is the will of God, against which the error cannot prevail. (Item 301, question 9)

Answers to questions

A. That serves the teaching of spirits, if he does not give us more certainty than teaching human?

We do not accept with equal confidence the teaching of all men, and between two doctrine, prefer one whose author seems more enlightened, more capable, more sensible, less accessible to the passions. Likewise one should proceed with spirits. If there are those among them who are not above humanity, there are many that passed and they can give us lessons which we seek in vain with the most learned men. Distinguish each other, that is the task of those who wish to clarify, and Spiritualism provides the means to do so.

But even these teachings have a limit, and if the Spirit is given not know everything, with stronger reason this is true for men. There are things, so on that will be useless to interrogate the spirits, either because they are forbidden to reveal them, either because they themselves ignore them and whose observance can only expend their personal opinions. Finally, it should be understood that even in ordinary communications of spirits, we can reap valuable lessons, such as spirits show us the practical application of the great and sublime truths whose theory teach us superior spirits. The state of being happy or unhappy disembodied, their conditions in the spiritual life, the preservation of their individuality, behold situations in which Spiritualism and revealed that enlighten us about the future that awaits us all beyond the grave. (The Book of Mediums, item 300.)

B. How should we treat the medium who is a victim of fascination?

The only thing to do is to seek medium to convince him that is deceived and turn their obsession into a case of "simple obsession." But this is not always easy, even if not sometimes impossible. The predominance of the Spirit may be such that makes fascinated deaf to any kind of reasoning can go up and make you doubt, when the Spirit commits a thick scientific heresy, if it is not science that is wrong. As already mentioned, the hosts usually fascinated badly boards; criticism offends you, annoy you and you fall into dislike those who do not share his admiration. Suspect his Spirit is almost a profanation to your eyes and all you want is the Spirit. Because there is so blind as those who will not see, when we recognize the futility of any attempt to open the eyes of fascinated, what's best to do is leave you with your illusions. We can not cure a patient who is obstinate in maintaining their disease and it delights. (Ibid., item 250.)

C. For the magnetic pass should be used for treating obsessed?

What is lacking sometimes is obsessed in a force sufficient fluid, in which case the magnetic action of a good hypnotist can usefully come to their aid, to enable the energy needed to master the evil spirits. (Ibid., item 251.)

D. In moralization of evil spirits, which may be the influence of men?

The man certainly has more power than the higher spirits, but their language is identified better with the nature of imperfect spirits, it being understood, however, that the upside that man can exert on them are in the ratio of their moral superiority. Through wise counsel man can lead them to repentance and hasten their advance. (Ibid., item 254, paragraph 5.)
