It has been 22 years we received in Londrina the visit of Barbara Ivanova, a respected name worldwide in the field of psycho-physics research, who spoke to a large audience at Cine Teatro Ouro Verde.

One of the topics of the conference was exactly the reincarnation. Ivanova mentioned then several cases of children who remembered their past lives, which suggests the existence of an extra cerebral memory, which has hitherto been studied by many researchers world-renowned as the Indian Banerjee and the American Ian Stevenson.

After the conference, she gave a press conference in the room of the Hotel Bourbon. One of the questions was about the theme of reincarnation. Someone asked her which were the methods that it was based to say that reincarnation was scientifically proven. In her response, she said that the entire scientific community knew that, certainly referring to her Russian colleagues, and explained then the scientific methods adopted to prove reincarnation are, among others, communication with spirits through mediumship, memory regression and the memory called extra cerebral.

Thirty-three years after Barbara Ivanova birth, it was born in the United States Carol Bowman, who led an ordinary life, taking care of her two children, until something very strange happened. During the commemoration of July 4th holiday, her youngest son, Chase, who was suffering from phobia of loud noise, got in panicked with the explosions from the burning of fireworks. As if in a trance, the boy began to describe his violent death during the American Civil War, in which he said he was a black soldier. Chase told all the despair of war with a wealth of detail that only a historian would. After this event, the boy's phobia magically disappeared.

From that day, Carol Bowman's life changed radically. Trying to understand the phenomenon that her son had reported, she began researching endlessly about similar experiences, but found nothing that satisfied her. Then she went to look for people who had lived a similar experience and soon gathered a vast amount of material that allowed her to write a book on the subject past lives. And she did. Released in the United States, the book Children's Past Lives (Bantam, 1997), published in Brazil by Sextant Publishing, it was also published in England, Australia, Holland, Germany and China.
