Text for reading

91. Cannot bring flowers to the spirits of other planets, due to the difference of environments. (Item 99, the eighth question)

92. Objects may be brought and taken by spirits. (Item 99, 10a question).

93. As the Spirit brings the object transported? Is Erastus who answers : How does your personal fluid is dilatable, the Spirit combines a portion of this fluid with the fluid animalized the medium, and it is this combination that hides and transports the object. (Item 99, the 13th question)

94. The weight of the object is nothing to the spirits. Can they bring objects of one hundred grams or hundred pounds, because gravity exists for us, is void for them. However, the combined mass of fluid is proportional to the objects, ie, the force should be in proportion to the resistance, hence it follows that if the spirit brings only a flower, because it is often not found in the medium, or itself, the necessary elements for a more considerable effort. (Item 99, the 14th question)

95. May be attributed to spirits the disappearance of certain objects, whose cause is unknown. However, as the subtraction of objects requires almost the same conditions that the fluidic trazimento calls them, can give it only with the concurrence of mediums endowed with special powers. (Item 99, 15a question)

96. In worlds more advanced than the earth, the spirits are seen more often because the more a man approaches the spiritual nature, the more easily be put into communication with the spirits. The coarseness of our wrap is rare and makes it difficult the perception of ethereal beings. (Item 100, the ninth question)

97. The spirits who appear to have wings on really? No, the spiritual-ments do not have wings. They appear this way to impress the person to show. (Item 100, 12th question)

98. The visions that some sick report, explaining thus: the disease state, the material ties loosen, the weakness of the body allows greater freedom to the Spirit, and this goes down more easily in communication with other spirits. (Item 100, 16th question)

99. The sight of spirits can produce up finding himself the seer in perfectly normal conditions. However, people who see them are often very close to a state of ecstasy, a state that gives them a kind of double view. (Read about the item 447 d 'The Spirits' Book.). (Item 100, 19th question)

100. Those who think they see the spirits that they see with their eyes, but in reality is the soul of the beholder. So, could see them with eyes closed. (Item 100, 20th question)

Answers to questions

A. What is the purpose of the physical manifestations?

The physical manifestations are intended to draw our attention to something and convince us of the presence of a force superior to man. Upon reaching the goal, the physical manifestation ceases because it is not most needed. (The Mediums' Book, item 85.)

B. The physical manifestations help convince men?

Yes, spontaneous manifestations are often permitted and even provoked in order to convince, though there are people incredulous that even seeing spirits, persist in unbelief. Atheists and materialists are not witnesses in every moment of God's power and thinking? This prevents them from denying God and the soul. (Ibid., item 94.)

C. To convince people there is another more appropriate means?

You must understand that spiritist phenomena are not meant to be taken in fun and curious spectacle. Evident is that they are working to convince unbelievers, but if there were no other means of conviction, there would be today a hundredth part of the spiritists. To make conversions serious, you need to speak to the heart, that is where we get the best results for this goal. (Ibid., item 98.)

D. What to do in the face of spontaneous spiritual manifestations?

In general, there is no reason to be scared, the presence of Spirits can be intrusive, but not dangerous. If they are spirits who have fun, we laugh in their parts, and not impatient with them: they then eventually get bored and will leave the site. It is always useful to know, however, what they want. If they ask something, we can be certain that it will cease his visits since his desire is satisfied. The consultation in such cases should be made through a medium under conditions of good development. If the author of unfortunate events is a Spirit, the charity sends to be treated with the attention it deserves, whether it is an evil, we must ask God to make this better. In all cases, the prayer is often useful. But the severity of the formulas of exorcism make them laugh and they do not take into any account. (Ibid., item 90.)
