Cremation is legitimate, since the deceased want it

Some newspapers
such as Gazeta do Povo, Curitiba-PR, transmit - in space for notices of public - information that cremation is an environmentally, friendly and economical procedure, followed by a phone number by which the reader can have more information on the subject.

In Spiritism
, it is unclear why the theme cremation does not figure in the works of Kardec, although its adoption in different countries is a secular tradition and well before the coding Kardec.

Thus
, students of the spiritism only find reference to the subject in other authors, like Leon Denis, Paul Bodier and Richard Simonetti, known also information that, according to Chico Xavier, Emmanuel had sent him in 1971, when the "Drip-fire" of the television show. According to Emmanuel, "cremation is legitimate for those who desire it, provided there is a period of at least 72 hours of waiting for the occurrence in any crematorium."

Cremation
has, as we know, advantages and disadvantages.

In the economic field, we can cite the advantages of reducing the cost of the funeral and the reduction of urban space that cemeteries occupy. Furthermore, instead of mausoleums, maintenance always expensive, a small urn solves the problem of packaging the ashes, if this is the family’s desire.

In the aspect of
hygiene or health, cremation is also an important solution, especially in cases of death from contagious disease such as typhus, smallpox, scarlet fever, as well as in epidemics, in which only the fire can also give adequate sanitation.

In the legal field
are some arguments against cremation because, incinerated the corpse, it becomes impractical to check every post-mortem that becomes necessary, which may be given in cases
of criminal activity.

Disadvantages, this time in the spiritual field, are also indicated by Leon Denis. He said that cremation causes faster, more abrupt and violent detachment from the entity disembodied and even painful for the soul attached to the earth. Some spirits remain magnetized to the material body after death trance, as mostly happens with suicide. The fluidic cord breakage is not always consumes in a very short time. Under these conditions, the disembodied is like a living corpse whose sensory perception, to his misfortune, still present and active. Cremation would cause him a harrowing trauma, which would amount to "increase the affliction to the afflicted."

Richard Simonetti expressed appropriately, for that matter, like thought. He believes that although the body does not transmit sensations to the Spirit, he can experience this "extremely unpleasant impressions" if in the act of cremation he is still attached to the body.

Considering the advantages and disadvantages, which seems to be crucial in cremation is the choice made by the interested party, who may well - before death - tell his family what is his choice: cremation or burial.

If he chooses
cremation, be sure that is unfounded fears expressed by some sectors of Catholicism, since the incineration of the corpse has no effect on the spiritual body and the future state of the deceased, the adventures that await him in the beyond-
grave.
