How our detractors discuss

The editorial published in the last edition, entitled Life after life, has received expressions of support from dozens of readers of this journal, but also an extensive defense by a person who claims to have tried to be spirit, without, however, get it.

From this objection we have selected three topics that show how the detractors of spiritism argue.

The first relates to the Bible and the importance of the facts narrated therein with reference to the immortality of the soul.

Here is the argument used by the author of the defense, directly responding to the question: Does not The Bible serve you?

"No! The Bible is a book written by more than 40 people for 1,500 years and has little historical value, being more a collection of myths of a people than a true story.
"

The second topic concerns the hundreds of letters psychographic by Chico Xavier. Here the argument of the defense, denying the validity of the work of the noted medium:

"No, definitely the work of Chico Xavier has proved obscure and uncertain by several reports of close people by his neurological examinations proving his schizophrenia and sufficient evidence about in renowned journals such as Realidade, O Cruzeiro, Veja and Superinteressante."

The third topic refers to the works of Father François Brune, author of "The Dead Speak on" and another written in partnership with a professor at the Sorbonne, Rémy Chauvin, "Beyond the Line".

Here is the text used by the author of the objection, the contents of which makes clear that he does not know the Father Brune or his works:

"Father François Brune bases on Biblical facts. Beliefs of a people the Bronze Age did not prove anything.
"

Disregarding the Scriptures and despises the work of Chico Xavier is a right that everyone has, but avail themselves of untruths, no. The lie disqualifies anyone who takes benefit from it. The books of Father François are not based on Biblical facts: they are based on proven facts and known to all those who seek to inform themselves about the state of research about the immortality and the exchange of men with so-called dead.

In Chapter I of his book "The Dead Speak on" (Edicel, 1991), Father François Brune said: "Death is only a passage." He adds that our life continues without interruption until the end of time and we will take with us our personalities, our memories, our character.

To endorse this idea, Brune cites, first, the famous FSM (Border of Death Experience), involving people taken for dead and returned to life, recognized especially since 1970, and, secondly, the direct recording of the voices of deceased persons on magnetic tapes, pioneered by Friedrich Jürgenson, born in Odessa, but then settled in Stockholm.

The history and details of Jürgenson’s work are reported in the work mentioned by Father Brune, which also shows the experiments conducted by Hans Bender, director of the Institute of Parapsychology at the University of Freiburg, and Konstantin Raudive, who discovered, thanks to the so-called random the possibility to communicate with the dead.

The experiences of Franz Seidl, an engineer based in Vienna that built for Raudive psycho phone and the positron, in order to facilitate the recording of spirit voices, and the recordings obtained in Switzerland by Father Leo Schmid, are also reported in the work at hand, which devotes several chapters to photography and video recording of images from the Beyond, which highlights the work of Klaus Schreiber, Hans Otto Koenig and Ernst Senkowski. (About Father Francois Brune and his research, we recommend the reader to read the interview with our colleague José Lucas, published in issue 240 of this magazine. Here is the link: http://www.oconsolador.com.br/ano5/240/entrevista.html.)

We see, therefore, this small sample, that the work of François Brune has nothing to do with Bible stories or beliefs, as stated by the complainant to which we refer, which shows clearly how the detractors of Spiritism, the lack of solid arguments, often act.

We defend the idea that is a waste of time trying to convince the skeptical that life continues beyond the grave and that one day we will have to reincarnate, because such facts - like it or not - skeptics and materialists will inevitably have to face it.
