Text for reading

91. The individuality of the soul we have been taught theoretically, as an article of faith, but the Spirit makes it clear, and to some extent material. (L.E., 152)

92. The life of the Spirit is eternal, the body is transient. (L.E., 153)

93. The observation proves that at death the shedding of the Spirit suddenly not complete, it works gradually, slowly variable, depending on the individual. For some it is quite fast. In others, particularly those whose life was material and sensual, the detachment is more time consuming and sometimes lasts a few days, weeks and even months. (L.E., 155-A)

94. The intellectual and moral activity, rising thoughts operate an early release, even during the bodily life, and when death comes, the detachment is almost instantaneous. (L.E., 155)

95. The affinity that persists in some individuals, between soul and body, is sometimes very painful, because the Spirit can experience the horror of decay. This is what happens in certain kinds of death, as in some suicides. (L.E., 155)

96. In agony, sometimes the soul has left the body, which is nothing more than organic life. The man has no more self-awareness, and yet he still remains a breath of life that keeps his heart while you circulate blood through the veins, but it does not have soul. (L.E., 156)

97. The feeling that the soul experiences when it is recognized in the spirit world depends on their actions on earth. If done badly with the desire to do so, shall be ashamed of having acted. The just feel relieved of a great weight because he is not afraid to look no inquisitive. (L.E., 159)

98. Almost always receive friends come in around us the world of spirits and help us rid ourselves of the tracks of the matter. (L.E., 160)

99. In all cases of violent death, not when it results from the gradual extinction of the vital forces, the bonds that unite the body to perispirit are more tenacious and complete detachment is slower. (L.E., 162)

100. The duration of the confusion that follows death is variable: it may be a few hours, as many months and even years. (L.E., 165)

101. In the violent deaths as suicide, torture, accident etc.., One is surprised, are surprised, do not believe he is dead and stubbornly maintains that did not die. Search affection of his people and does not understand why not listen. This illusion is maintained until the complete detachment of the Spirit and it is with spirits who had other types of disembodiment, and is more widespread among those who, though sick, did not think about dying. (L.E., 165)

102. This fact is easily explained: surprised by the unexpected death, the spirit is stunned by the sudden change which it operates. For him, death is synonymous with destruction. As you continue to think, see and hear as it is not considered dead, and that increases their illusion is the fact of seeing a body similar to the one left on earth, whose ethereal nature has not had time to check. He thinks solid-state, but then when you call your attention to this point, is surprised that he could not feel it. (L.E., 165)

103. The man who is conscious of his inferiority in the doctrine of reincarnation is a consoling hope. The thought that their inferiority to disown not always the highest good, and he may win you over with their efforts, sustains and refreshes. (L.E., 171)

104. If you continue as Spirit, rather than reincarnate, it would be stationary, and what we want is to move towards God. (L.E., 175-A)

105. The spirits can remain stationary, but never retrograde. (L.E., 178-A)

Answers to questions

A. How does the separation of the soul, since the dead body? Painful?

The separation of soul and body is not painful. The body often suffers more during life than at death. The suffering that is sometimes experienced at the moment of death are a joy to see the Spirit come the end of his exile. In natural death, which comes to the depletion of the organs as a result of age, a man leaves his life without realizing it, is a lamp that goes out for lack of oil. Once loosened the bonds that held back the body, the soul disengages itself gradually, never abruptly. She can not escape as a captive bird that was suddenly restores freedom, because the two states touch and confused, so that the Spirit is released little by little the ties that bound him. (The Book of Spirits, issues 154, 155, 163 and 164.)

B. Body after death, the Spirit knows exactly what happened to him?

No, because the soul spends time in a state of disturbance, whose duration depends on the elevation of each. He already recognizes purified almost immediately, because he freed himself of the substance to cease the life of the body, while the carnal man, the one whose conscience is not pure, keeps much longer to print the story.

At death, all at first is confusing. Need some time to get into the soul know itself. She feels as if dazed, in the state of a person who has awakened from deep sleep and tries to orient itself on your situation. The clarity of ideas and memories of the past will return, as it erases the influence of matter just leave it and as kind of dissipates the mist that obscures his thoughts. (Ibid., 163 to 165 questions.)

C. The Spiritist knowledge helps the individual to free himself from the confusion that follows death?

Yes, because - with the knowledge of spirit - the Spirit already understands your situation in advance. But it is the practice of good and pure conscience with the greatest influence. According to Spiritism, the confusion that follows death is nothing painful for the good man, which is kept quiet, like at all to those who follow the stages of a peaceful awakening. For that, however, whose conscience is not pure, the disturbance is full of anxiety and distress, which increases as it penetrates your situation. (Ibid., issue 165.)

D. What is and what is based the doctrine of reincarnation?

The doctrine of reincarnation is based on the righteousness of God and revelation, so everyone knows that the good father leaves his children always open a door for repentance. It would be different with our Father greater, which provides the means to the Spirits of perfection, a goal to which all they were created. The doctrine of reincarnation shows us that the spirits pass through many lifetimes body until debugging is its imperfections, to reach perfection. With every new existence, the Spirit takes a step forward in the path of progress in order to come a time, clean of all impurities, will no longer need the evidence of bodily existence. (Ibid., issues 166, 167, 168 and 171.)

E. Our different physical existences on earth are they all go?

No. They occur in different worlds that populate the universe. Those that we on Earth are not the first nor the last, are, however, the more material and further away from perfection. (Ibid., 172 to 174 questions.)
