What is capable of doing who does not forgive

Allan Kardec’s phrase is known from the book Posthumous Works, where the Encoder says that the man is often obsessing himself.

Some disease states – he says – and certain aberrations that attributed to an underlying cause should be sometimes just the Spirit of the individual. The most common setbacks that each one focuses on himself, especially love dislikes, may lead the individual to commit many eccentric acts that we would be wrong on account of obsession.

It seems that there is finally an explanation of the unfortunate event conducted by the young Wellington Menezes de Oliveira, which occurred on 7th April at Municipal School Tasso da Silveira at Realengo, in Rio de Janeiro.

Texts written and release weeks later by this man proved that he acted moved by feelings of revenge for something that had happened in the same environment when he was about the age of those 12 victims of his insane gesture.

Besides the grief that affected many families, this event brings several lessons. The first one reminds us many warnings given by Jesus about the importance of forgiveness.

Who does not forgive carry for himself bad consequences, not only physical, as the resentment and hatred are the root of many diseases, but also for the soul which may disturb itself with their own thoughts and act irresponsible, as explained by Allan Kardec in the text above recalled.

Spiritism teaches that revenge is still the cause of most cases of obsession, especially the most painful which can affect the human creature.

In one of the best works of authorship of Jésus Gonçalves (Spirit), the novel Perdoa (Forgive), psychographed by the medium Celia Xavier Camargo, can be checked the condition of postmortem of a criminal who sincerely repents is much better than the situation of victims who do not can forgive. If this actually happens when they are disembodies, it is easy to understand that this can also occur when they are embodied.

Undoubtedly, such was the case with the young Wellington, and this is visible to what was published – if we assimilate well the lesson – it should reinforce in society we live in the sense that forgiveness is the only action we must take on the offenses and insults received, because we know that in the face of God’s Law, is better to suffer injury than being the aggressor nodes.

Jesus’ words that so many times we have heard, should therefore echo forever in our minds and our hearts:

- Before you deposit your gift, go back and make peace with your accuser while you are on the way…

- Forgive not seven times but seventy times seven…

- If someone forces you to go one mile, walk two thousand…

- If someone strikes you on the right cheek, offer him your left…

- Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute and slander you…

- Father, forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors...
