The tragedy in fluminense sierra

Further another tragedy which has happened to Brazilian citizens, what can we do beyond pray and help them?      

We should remind first that the rains that hit the mountain region of Rio de Janeiro State have killed hundreds and left thousands homeless. The scenario is still true destruction, especially the cities Nova Friburgo, Petrópolis and Teresópolis. Those cities were invaded by water, mud and garbage.

If some have lost everything they had, including their houses, some have lost their loved ones; they were washed away or buried by mud.

The tragedy struck people from different social classes and not just the poor, as it is current to happen in similar cases. Luxury hostels and simple houses, residences embedded in the hill and houses located away from danger, old cars and brand new cars, nothing escaped from the fury of the water. It was if a tsunami had swept the mountain region of that state.

How do we understand so many misfortunes? 

We will not make any consideration as nature edification, because this is not the appropriate time. Remember, merely, a known warning was given by Jesus, which Luke recorded in chapter 21: 9-13, in his Gospel: 

“And, when you hear about wars and disturbance, do not be frightened. Because it is necessary this happen first, but the end will not be soon.

And it was told you: It will happen nation against nation, kingdom against kingdom; and there will be several big earthquakes, and famines and pestilences; it will also happen frightening things and great signs from heaven. But before all these things happen, they will take hold of you, and they will chase you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and presidents for my name’s sake. And you happen to witness this.”      

Emmanuel, chapter 71, from the book Caminho, Verdade e Vida (it has not been translated into English); he said these words spoken by Jesus. 

This is what the spiritual instructor wrote through Chico Xavier hands:

“Naturally the master Jesus will not be relaxed, if he sees his pupils getting down to suffering. However, considering the extensive needs of men on Earth, it is understandable the indispensable nature of the trials and obstacles.

Modern pedagogy is full of selective efforts, tendering capacity of intelligence tests.

Gospel offers similar situations. The friend of Christ should not be a shadowy creature, waiting for afflictions; however, if you know your role in a plane like Earth, you must rely on all sorts of difficulties.  

For the fake joys of the world, the Planet is full of wrong drivers. How to claim the Savior for the continuity of fantasies?

When we are called to the Christ, it is for us to learn to execute the job in favor of a bigger spot, without denying that the service starts with us.

There are many men of cultural value who have become a mentor to the ones who want truthless privileges in the physical plane. Although, this does not happen that way in the Gospel. When the Master invites someone to work, it doesn’t mean that you have to cry in dismay or to rest in idle satisfaction.

If the Lord has called you, you do not forget that you are already worthy of witnessing.”

The tragedy in the fluminense sierra is for all of us, and for those people in particular, a really touch proof which requires for all people not only prayers, but all possible assistance able to minimize the suffering of our brothers in Petrópolis, Teresópolis and Nova Friburgo.
