Text for reading

49. Where there are two or three are gathered in Jesus' name, he'll be there - After affirming that the Son of Man came to save what was lost, Jesus continued: "What do you think? If any man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, do not go to the mountains, leaving the ninety and nine, in search of the stray? And to think that perhaps, verily I say pleasure is that of which the ninety and nine which went not astray. So, too, is not the will of your Father in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. " "Moreover if thy brother trespass against thee - Jesus recommended - go and rebuke him between thee and him alone: if he hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother, but if you do not hear, take with thee one or two more, that the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if you do not listen, tell it to the church and if he will not listen to the church regards it as a heathen and publican. Verily I say unto you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Also tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask, it will be done by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I with them. "(Matthew 18:11 to 18:20.)

50. We must forgive seventy times seven - In response, Peter said to him: "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven? "Jesus replied," Do not tell you until seven, but until seventy times seven. " And he told them this parable: "The kingdom of heaven likened to a king who would reckon with his servants, and beginning to reckon, one was brought unto him which owed him ten thousand talents, and he had no means to pay, his lord ordered him and his wife and children were sold with everything he had, that the debt is paid him. The servant therefore fell down, and worshiped him, saying, Lord, be with me, and I will pay thee. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, released him and forgave him the debt. Leaving, however, that servant found one of his companions, who owed him a hundred pence, and, throwing his hand, choked him, saying, Pay me what you owe. Then his partner, fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee. But he did not want, before it was shut in prison until they pay the debt. Seeing as their comrades what was happening, grieved a lot, and were told to their lord all that had happened. Then his lord called him to his presence, told him: O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt because you begged me. Should you not also have had compassion on thy fellow servant, as I had pity on thee? Angry, and his lord delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all he owed. " Completed the narration of the parable, Jesus warned: "So you will, too, my heavenly Father, from the heart forgive not everyone his brother their trespasses." (Matthew 18:21 to 18:35.)

51. There are three types of eunuchs - After listening to the Master's lesson about loyalty due to marriage, the students commented: "If that is the condition of man and wife, not to marry." Jesus then warned them, saying, "Not everyone can receive this saying, save they to whom it was granted. For there are eunuchs who were so born from their mother's womb: and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs of men: and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven. Who can receive it, receive it. " (Editor's note: Eunuch originally applied to the castrated men charged with the custody of harems, by extension, applies to the impotent man, weak. There is reference in the text of Jesus evident at the end to priestly celibacy.) (Matthew 19: 10 to 19:12.)

52. The kingdom of heaven is pure people like children - Then they brought Jesus to some boys, to lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples, however, rebuked them, a fact which prompted the warning from the Lord: "Let the little children and not hinder them from coming unto me: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." And having laid his hands on them and went away. It was then that a young man appeared to him, saying, "Good Master, what good must I do to get eternal life?" Jesus replied, "Why call me good? There is none good but one, which is God. But if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. " The young man asked, "What?" And Jesus said, "Do not kill, Do not commit adultery, not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor thy father and thy mother, and thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." The young man then informed that everything he had been keeping from his youth. What it lacked yet? Jesus then said: "If thou wilt be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me." (Matthew 19:13 to 19:21.)

53. It is easier for a camel to go through a needle - But the youth, hearing these words, he went away sad, because he had great possessions. Building on the example, Jesus asserted: "Verily I say it's difficult to get rich in the kingdom of heaven. And again I say that it is easier to pass a camel through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. "The disciples heard this, they were exceedingly amazed, and asked: "Who then can be saved?" Jesus said unto them, with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. "Peter then took the floor and after remembering that he and his companions had left everything to follow him, asked him who would receive for it. Jesus said: "Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit upon the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. But many first shall be last, and many last shall be first. " (Matthew 19:22 to 19:30.)

Answers to questions

1. To heal the lunatic boy, whose obsessive could not be ousted by his disciples, Jesus took the opportunity to give a new teaching. What was this teaching?

The man knelt down and said: Lord, has mercy on my son, who is epileptic and suffers a lot, because often falls into the fire and often into the water. I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him. Jesus answered and said: O faithless and perverse generation! Even when I'm with you, and how long shall I suffer you? Bring him to me. And Jesus rebuked the evil spirit, who left him, and from that hour the boy was cured. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and asked why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Move from here to there, and must pass, and nothing will be impossible. But this variety of spirits not out but by prayer and fasting, there alluding to the importance of prayer and fasting of the passions to deal with more hardened spirits. (Matthew 17:14 to 17:21.)

2. Talking about the scandals that happen in the world, teaching us that Jesus left?

The Master said these words: Woe unto the world because of scandals, it is necessary that scandals come, but woe to that man by whom the offense cometh! Therefore, if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut it off and throw it far from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, than having two hands or two feet to be cast in eternal fire. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out and throw it far from thee better for thee to enter into life with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. Jesus refers to this teaching moral backwardness that characterizes our world, while it reaffirmed the law of action and reaction, teaching that we are all responsible for the acts we perform. (Matthew 18:7 to 18:9.)

3. Jesus said to the Pharisees that to try it, asked: Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?

Jesus answered them, Have ye not read that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female, and therefore a man leave father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? So, are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together no man put asunder. They say unto him, Why then did Moses command to give a writing of divorce, and divorce her? The Master replied: It was because of the hardness of your hearts Moses permitted you to divorce your wives, but at first did not. But I tell you that he who divorces his wife, except for unfaithfulness, and marries another commits adultery. (Matthew 19:3 to 19:12.)

4. Containing the parable of the vineyard workers, also known as the parable of the workers of the last hour?

This parable says that the kingdom of heaven is like a man, family man who went out at dawn to hire laborers for his vineyard. Tuning with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. Went out about the third hour he saw others standing idle in the marketplace, and said unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard, and I will give you what is right. And they did. Going out near the sixth and ninth hour, did the same. And he went out about the eleventh hour, he found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye idle all day? They said to him: Because no one hired us. He says to them: Go ye also into the vineyard, and you will receive what is right. Approaching the night, the lord of the vineyard said to his steward, Call the laborers and pay them the journey, beginning with the last. Getting those who had come close to the eleventh hour, received each a denarius. And there came the first, thought that they would receive more, but they likewise received every man a penny. And receiving it they grumbled against the householder, saying, they have worked one hour, and thou hast made them equal to us, who have borne the burden of the day! But he answered and said to one of them, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou with me for a denarius? Take what are thine, and thee: I want to give this last as much as you. Or I may not do what you want what is mine? Your eye is bad because I am good? So the last shall be first, and the first shall be last, because many are called but few are chosen. (Matthew 20:1 to 20:16.)

5. When Jesus left Jericho, two blind men who were sitting by the way that Jesus asked them to open his eyes. Jesus answered. How did this healing?

The blind had told him: Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us! Jesus stopped, called them and said, What will ye that I do? They said to him: Lord, our eyes are open. Then Jesus, moved with compassion, touched their eyes, and they would turn and followed him. (Matthew 20:29 to 20:34.)
