THE PSYCHOGRAPHY OF DIVALDO FRANCO (4)

Different themes and literary styles mark the work
of the medium

It is worth starting to consider some themes and totally different literary styles, contained in books by psychographic medium Divaldo Franco, written by many spiritual authors. In this article we will make a more thematic and ample approach, to give it a good idea.

The literate from Bahia Amélia Augusta Sacramento Rodrigues (1861 1926), born in Oliveira dos Campinhos, in Santo Amaro (Bahia), she was a teacher, a poet, a translator and lecturer, making a great  contribution  to  the  literary

and cultural history of Bahia. Eight books dictated by the medium Divaldo, and all took the form of evangelical narratives of much beauty, applying a biblical vocabulary and the history of early Christianity.

Consider some excerpts, with more specific citations, just to give an idea:

"Jesus loved the Galilee and their children. He stated in Capernaum that hey were 'His people'.

There He exercised his ministry in an atmosphere of total contribution and tenderness.

The landscape rich in beauty and color, the creatures were simple, sincere, and diligent devoid of ashamed ambition. He was touched by sublime feelings.

Thus, to convene the College, He brought together eleven disciples in Galilee and only one from Judea, Judas Iscariot who betrayed Him.

The astute, researching, restless and apprehensive mind, disharmonize the feeling; it becomes suspicious, leading to disruption and uncertainty.

Among the disciples, Judas stood out by not achieving behavioral or emotional relationship with other children of the earth, and sometimes they were ironically called.

His presence gave them dignity, lifted them up from mystery and littleness to a peaking unimaginable future, a rainbow of blessings. "(Amélia Rodrigues - Wheat of God, LEAL / BA, 1st ed., Pp. 93.)

The themes of Spirit Irmao X, which is Humberto de Campos Veras (1886-1934), are very different in relation to the books of the Spirit Amélia Rodrigues. He was born in Miritiba (MA) and passed away in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). He was journalist, columnist and a successful memoirist. He gained further prestige as a writer when published humorous stories as Conselheiro

XX. He belonged to the Brazilian Academy of Letters, and wrote several chronicles through Divaldo’s mediumship.

"Simon Peter! My God, it’s the Apostle Peter! Yes, it was the extraordinary worker of the Gospel. "

He dictated the following message to the medium when doing talks in Rome / Italy, coinciding with the period of the consecration of Pope John Paul I, Cardinal Albino Luciani, in September 1978. The message is in the book The Department of Spiritism, LEAL Ed. / BA. The Spirit narrated an interesting and profound chronic, representing an imaginary dialogue, when the Apostle Peter was found after the religious ceremony:

"When the pompous celebration, which made the Cardinal Albino Luciani, Pope John Paul I, the 264th head of the Roman Catholic Church, 'successor of the prince of the apostles, patriarch of the Western World, Premier of Italy, archbishop and metropolitan of the Roman Province, Sovereign of the Vatican City and Servant of the servants of God, the great square of St. Peter in the Vatican City, was being empty little by little.

The first autumn winds blew. Almost imperceptibly, under the dome of a few stars, a figure that roamed lonely, took the direction of the path of conciliation, which leads to the Castle of St. Angelo, darkly built in the wetland by the sleepy river Tiber. I did not rest my curiosity and approached the wanderer that seemed steeped in deep thought.

By identifying the melancholic character, sped up my step and exclaimed, reverent, moved:

- Simon Peter! My God, the Apostle Peter!

Yes, it was the extraordinary worker of the Gospel.

Neither host of angels nor a retinue of saints was with him. Not one blessed or any celestial entourage was present. The humble clothing of fabric, the sandals of pilgrims and the expression of infinite sorrow, marking his rugged and crested face with the old deal and sacrifices, were the mark of the apostolic days revived in him.

- Where are you going, sir?

- Out of the Vatican, returning to the ways of human suffering to serve Jesus.

- You came to the Mass celebration – I decided to ask - and to watch the appointment of the one who will be your direct successor as Vicar of Christ on Earth?

The Apostle, who had a life between the beams of a rough and brutal cross looked toward the huge hills and great buildings, paused his voice, repeating the Galilean prophet, said:

- Yes I was notified of the ceremony and decided to meet you. However, since I arrived, not found, even at a time, the presence of Jesus here. The opulence, the ritual, the liturgy reminded me the transient values of the world ... "- Brother X (Humberto de Campos) - (A Service of Spiritism, Nilson Pereira / Divaldo, LEAL / BA, 1st ed. Pp. 127.)

"It is regrettable that the gap between the psychiatric and psychotherapeutic spiritual therapy persists."

But the Spirit Manoel Philomeno Batista de Miranda (1876 1942), born in Conde (BA), worked in the business sector. He became a spiritist in 1914 and was a major contributor of the União Espírita Baiana in Salvador (BA). He wrote eight books through the medium Divaldo. Themes explored in these works are completely different from those form the spirits mentioned above(Amélia Rodrigues and Brother X), focusing on the obsession and linking them with psychiatric problems, is also worth a specific vocabulary, with many historical citations, academic and revealing deep knowledge of area.

Let us analyze:

"From the psychiatric point of view she (Julinda) has a picture of manic-depressive psychosis, which is present with increasing severity. From an initial euphoria it became a distressing depression, building a scheme of self destruction.

"Initially they applied the resources of balneotherapy, trying-to produce a better peripheral blood flow through slightly warm quick showers. Soon after, opiates were used and now will be joined by barbiturates and electroshock derivatives without more meaningful and favorable results.

"Thanks to the financial resources available we can keep her isolated and under regular care. Beside these, the moral of the tender devotion of mom and her husband have been of great benefit, avoiding her greater evils.

- It is regrettable that the gap persists between the psychiatric and psychotherapeutic spiritual therapy. In the case above, are resulting fruitless, if not harmful, treatments based on derivatives of barbiturates, as the electroshock.

"From a psychiatric point of view, it is argued that the Bipolar disorder (LDCs) as schizophrenia are an" endogenous psychosis ", whose cause is in the genes, a hereditary transmitted to another generation, and, therefore, inevitable and unfortunate fate  for the children of carriers of the disease, especially the victims of so-called "convergence hereditary."

"It is within this place, that the excessive pathological diversion becomes a cycloid, added to physical education in which the forces are present predominantly in the visceral glands responsible for the determination of humor, it is responsible for the manic-depressive psychosis. As they say, it is just the cycloid constitution, which provides resources for the emergence of

manic-depressive psychosis, becoming thus the hereditary inducer.

"Other scholars assert that LDCs result from endocrine alterations, particularly in the tables of manias and melancholy.

"Although many psychiatrists believe factors such as changes in prevailing organic chemicals... - Manoel Philomeno de Miranda (In the Borders of Madness, LEAL / BA, 1st ed., Pp. 29.)

Francisco do Monte Alverne said through Divaldo
a work of theological reflection

Admirable is the approach and the vocabulary of the Spirit Manoel Philomeno de Miranda, Totally different from the various spirits seen above. In the same way a comment needs to be done of the Spirit of Mount Alverne Francisco (1784-1858), speaker sacrum, Franciscan, born and passed away in Rio de Janeiro. He was professor of philosophy, theology and eloquence at the College of São Paulo, considered the greatest sacred preacher of his time. Divaldo psychographed the book Spiritual Anthology, Ed. IDE / Araras / SP, published in 1981.  The  Spirit  of  Mount  Alverne   Francisco   said

through Divaldo a work of theological reflection. He reflected on the cross, heaven, hell, the called and chosen ones, love, charity etc.., from references to biblical texts, all of course under the lights of the Spiritist Doctrine. It is interesting that in Speaking Works from his sacred speaker, which is a collection of his speeches, complied in two thick volumes, Ed. Guarnier, he drew a significant peculiarity. There is the important detail that more than half of the chapters of oratorical works represented a eulogy (which is a laudatory speech in praise of someone or something). The word eulogy, highlight it, is little known and used by ordinary people in the twentieth century and the beginning of the XXI century. For example, in life he wrote the panegyric of St. Sebastian, the panegyric of St. Francisco de Paula, the panegyric of St. Lawrence, the panegyric of St. Joaquim etc. On his psychographed work Spiritual Anthology, by Divaldo’s mediumship, just as almost half the book was also made of panegyric, and the panegyric of the Fire of Love, Life eulogy, panegyric of the Faith, Dedication of panegyric, eulogy of Knowledge, the eulogy Charity etc. Finally, it is a detail that needs to be registered.

Among the thousands of personal messages from spirits to their loved ones that Divaldo psychographed, we see a message dictated by the Spirit Cristiane Moraes Rodrigues (1964-1980), born in Piracicaba (SP) and passed away in Itambé (BA). On 28/01/1983, the message was sent by the Spirit of Cristiane through Divaldo, who did not know her or anyone in her family. It appears that there was no one who knew Cristiane at the meeting in which the Divaldo psychographed the message, (to rule out any theory of the unconscious, telepathy etc.). This text features more than thirty family details (names, dates, relationships, places, circumstances etc.).

The message was received by Divaldo in Uberaba, in the Group Spirit of Prayer, along with Chico Xavier

Look:

"- Cristiane (Triumphant lives, Various Spirits, LEAL / BA, pp. 112.)

(*) The various names, dates and information marked in asterisk were ratified in research with the relatives of the letter, all unknown to the medium. The message was received by Divaldo in Uberaba (MG) on 28/01/1983 in the Group Spirit of Prayer, a public meeting, along with Chico Xavier.
