Letter to the reader

Year 14 - 674 – June 14, 2020

There is almost no, or non-existent space given to young people in the Spirit House

The above thought is from our interviewee, the young Paola Asturiano Martins, one of the most active spirits of the new generation. Born in Londrina (PR), where she lives, she has participated in the activities of the Spirit Centre Our Home since she was a child, in which she coordinated the Department of Childhood and Youth (DIJ) for four years, in which she participates today as an evangelist. Coordinator of the Young Wing Our Home, she has maintained an instablog entitled Spirit Vision Channel, since 2018, in which she disseminates events, contents and themes relevant to the spirit doctrine. The interview is one of the highlights of this edition.

Another highlight is the special of the week, entitled Is it possible to be happy on Earth? Written by our collaborator Lillian Rosendo, the article focuses on the theme of happiness and its nuances and concludes that, given certain conditions, it is perfectly possible to be relatively happy on Earth. At the end of the article, the writer reproduces a little-known phrase said by Emmanuel, through the hands of Chico Xavier: “Real Happiness is a house that is built inside one's own soul”.

On a day like today, June 14, Edgard Pereira Armond was born in Guaratinguetá (SP). It was 1894. Armond, who held the presidency of the Spirit Federation of the State of São Paulo, was a soldier, a Mason, a teacher, a writer and one of the great scholars of Spiritism, especially in matters related to mediumship, as shown by Ana Moraes in a special article, which is also one of the highlights of this edition.
