The value and importance of prayer in our life

Prayer and its nuances are the theme of the Special that illustrates this edition. Written by educator Marcus De Mario, from Rio de Janeiro (RJ), the article makes valuable considerations about the importance of prayer in the lives of all of us. Prayer - says the writer - must come from the heart; our lips must faithfully reproduce what feelings and our thoughts must vibrate in love and charity for others. Only in this way, obeying these conditions, will our prayer be pleasant to those who address it and also to God. The article is one of the highlights of this issue.

Another highlight is an interview that the radiologist and spirit speaker Karina Rafaelli gave us. Based in the city of Marília (SP), she transmits to us in the interview her experience in coping with breast cancer, with the main objective of guiding women who face or will face similar occurrences. For her, according to what we learn in the spirit doctrine, diseases have fair causes and are part of the evolutionary process.

The city of Brasilia, the beautiful capital of our country, completed 60 years of existence in April, the same age as in October this year will complete the Grêmio Espírita Atualpa Barbosa Lima, one of the most important spirit institutions in the city. To mark both events, our collaborator André Ribeiro Ferreira, a member of the board of the aforementioned institution, wrote a special article that is also one of the highlights of this edition.
