A chat with Renato
Vernaschi Lima

"What is really needed to follow in the footsteps of the Master" is the title and theme of our editorial.

Renato Vernaschi Lima, now living in the city of Bauru (SP), is our interviewee. A Spiritist since his childhood and linked to the Spiritist Center Vicente de Paulo, in his city, he acts in the Spiritist issues as a speaker and also as a coordinator of courses in the works of Kardec. The interview is one of the highlights of this edition.

The researcher and physiotherapist Elida Mara Carneiro - from the Medical-Spiritist Association of Uberaba - is interviewed by the journalist Giovana Campos from the city of Santos (SP). She talks about the results of the research on the effectiveness of the laying on of hands, a work performed by researchers from the Federal University of the Triangulo Mineiro, with headquarters in Uberaba (MG).

"Making Peace: a contribution of Spiritism" was the motto for the 13th version of the Conference of Spiritist Culture of the West. This event was held at the Congress Center of Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, on 29 and 30 April, and this report is authored by our collaborator José Lucas.

This week marks an important event: the first Portuguese Spiritist Congress was held in Lisbon from May 15 to 18, 1925. The details of the pioneering event can be seen in the booklet prepared by Manuela Vasconcelos on the History of the Spiritist Movement of Portugal, which can be downloaded at no cost by clicking on this link: http://migre.me/wAxK9
