The Little Green Turtle

	Once upon a time there was a little green turtle. She lived at the bottom of a bay.
But she wanted to get out of the mud.

She sighed to reach the surface of the waters and find a new world.

She sought the king's advice.

- Well, well... - said the Crab King, from the top of his throne - Do I have time to want another world? This is enough for me...

Later, Little Turtle heard that the Dogfish was the representative of the surface world:

- You have to have a lot of consciousness - said the Dogfish - you have to fulfill obligations to get up there.

Dogfish tied many ribbons to Little Turtle. He put her in a burrow.

- Live away from the temptations of the mud, Little Turtle, otherwise... Well, you already know!

Some time passed and the Little Turtle was tired in the burrow.

She felt neither better nor worse.

She saw herself, however, too tied up.

One fine day, she left that hole.

She looked for the Star Fish. He listened to her, adjusted his glasses, cleared his throat.

- You have to memorize magic words - he assured her, poking his nose out of his books - Without them there is no salvation.

Little Turtle memorized books and more books.

She never, however, felt like she was on her way to the surface.

So, she left everything.

A little discouraged already, she spoke to the Swordfish:

- Hello, Mr. Sword!

- Hello, Little Turtle! I´ve heard you want to save yourself from the mud.

- It’s true.

The Swordfish said to her:

- There is no mystery for this. The rule is one for all:

“Help those who suffer and help yourself by studying”.

Little Turtle wasted no time.

She ran to help a rheumatic fish.

From there she was taken to medicate a cut in the tentacle of an old octopus.

Octopus, grateful, asked her to take care of sea urchins’ toothache.

Helping and studying, she felt happy.

She proceeded to give peace advice to the Shark.

Shark took her to visit the Whale.

Then, for the first time, Whale heard Little Turtle talk about gluttony.

Suddenly...

Well, what happened all of a sudden?

The Little Turtle, nothing more, nothing less, was on the surface of the bay.

A wonderful world ahead of her!
