Letter to the reader

Year 17 - 820 - April 23, 2023

Life keeps going on both planes; I keep going; let's keep going too!

Leila Mansur Wermelinger concluded her speech with the above sentence, interview given us, in which she explained about the work carried out by her husband Adésio Alves Machado, dedicated spiritist seafarer who passed away on July 2, 2009. She was born in Cantagalo (RJ), where she lives, she is the coordinator of the 45th CEU - Spiritist Council for the Unification of Cantagalo, an organization linked to the spiritist federation of the state. The interview is one of the highlights of this edition.

Another highlight is the special “Communications from beyond the grave”, in which Rogério Coelho examines the theme of communicability of Spirits, one of the fundamental principles of Spiritism and an immediate consequence of another basic principle, the immortality of the soul. In the article, among other considerations, he demonstrates that the alleged reasons for condemning relationships with spirits do not withstand serious examination.

Was Adam's first wife Eve or Lilith? The question, which is ancient, was raised by an excerpt from Genesis, 1:27: “And God created man in his image; in the image of God, he created him; male and female he created them.” The reference to Eve only appears later, in chapter 2 of the book. That is why, over the centuries, various reports mention Lilith as having been the "first woman in Paradise", as shown by Ana Moraes in a special text on the subject.
