Obsession and its different types and characters

Author of the book Obsession in 100 Answers, recently released by Casa Editora O Clarim, Rogério Miguez, from São José dos Campos (SP), examines obsession and its characters in the special “The spiritual obsession”, one of the highlights of this edition. In his article, in addition to highlighting the various spiritist concepts related to obsession, he reminds us that obsessive action can affect anyone, whether spiritist or not.

Our interviewee today is our confrere Manoel Sampaio Junior, who works as a speaker at Grupo Espírita Allan Kardec, from Guarapari (ES), the city where he is a member of the Guarapariense Academy of Letters and Arts. He was born in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, currently living in Vitória, both in the state of Espírito Santo, he tells us in the interview about the examples of dedication and firmness in the spiritist experience received from his father.

12 and a half years ago – April 2010 – the magazine Superinteressante surprised all of us and, in particular, its readers with an article that Richard Simonetti, in a letter sent to the magazine’s directors, classified as an “unfortunate report on Francisco Cândido Xavier, pretentious and tendentious”, with the clear target of “denigrating and devaluing the work of the great medium”. The episode is remembered in a special article in this issue.
