Cremation
and its advantages

This week’s editorial, Cremation is legitimate, provided that is was the wish of the deceased, points out the advantages and disadvantages of cremation from economic, health, legal and spiritual standpoints.

One of the highlights of this edition is the interview given to our colleague Orson Peter Carrara by the colleague Raul de Mello Franco Jr., District Attorney and Professor of Constitutional Law at Uniara - University Center of Araraquara, São Paulo, where he lives.

Author of several legal books, Raul de Mello Franco Jr. in addition to spiritist speaker, is an active member of AJE - Legal Spiritist Association of São Paulo, whose origin and activities constitute the main theme of the interview.

Another highlight of this edition is the special entitled On the borders of epilepsy, authored by the colleague Nubor Orlando Facure, spiristist lecturer, neurosurgeon and medical director of the Brain Institute of Campinas-SP.

The XIV Statewide Spiritist Conference was held last week in Pinhais-PR, with the special participation of Divaldo Franco, as shown in the article by Paulo Salerno that is also one of the highlights of this edition.

On this date - March 25th - José Petitinga disincarnated one of the pioneers of the spiritist movement in Bahia. His disincarnation occurred in 1939 when Petitinga was 73 years old. One of his most relevant accomplishments was the foundation on December 25th, 1915, of the Spiritist Union of Bahia - currently Spiritist Federation of the State of Bahia - which he presided until the day of his death.
