The mediumistic practice requires caution

This week’s editorial, Caution is essential when dealing with mediumship, examines the issue of care that all those engaged in the practice of mediumship should have, if they want to avoid disappointment.

One of the highlights of this edition is the interview that the colleague Emanoel Andrade, president of the Spiritist Association Jesus and Charity of Mogi Mirim-SP, gave to our collaborator and colleague Orson Peter Carrara.

Spiritist since childhood, Emanoel talks in the interview about the work that the institution he presides performs in the admission and care of patients with serious neurological disorders that, in addition to the problems they face, do not present conditions for living with their families.

Another feature of this issue is the conclusion of the special article "Spiritists, we need to talk about death," by Claudia Gelernter, from Vineyard-SP. The first part of the article was published in last week's issue.

The Spiritist Coral Association Hugo Gonçalves, which completed 14 years on August 3rd, 2011, has, in recent years, been developing a great job mixing music and theater, as shown in the story by Marcel Battaglia, which is also one of the highlights of this edition.

On this date - January 22nd - passed away in São Paulo-SP, in 1909, Antônio Gonçalves da Silva, better known as Batu. A native of the parish of Águas Santas, Portugal, where he was born on March 13th, 1839, Batu came to Brazil when he was 11 years old and became one of the great Spiritist figures of our country.
