The problems we face must
be solved by ourselves

Stories
from Hilário Silva, were gathered to compose his two books - Life writes and Soul on parade - both psychographed by Waldo Vieira and Francisco Cândido Xavier, there is one that expresses well what many people seek to find by making use of Spiritism.

This is the case José Cardoso, the fellow who insisted, in mediumistic sessions he attended, to seek help from spiritual mentors to the discovery of hidden treasures.

The region in which he lived was the mining headquarters. There had been discovered ancient chests and pots filled with nuggets and coins. There must be, therefore, Cardoso second thought, much hidden gold ...

Greed was disguised by using a familiar argument: finding treasure it could be done many charitable works ...

According to the report of Hilário, Jose Cardoso's friend was persistent and never missed a chance to make questions to the mentor of the group focused on that idea, which becomes haunting.

The reader can imagine the difficulty of the spiritual mentors in dealing with such people. How to respond to the fellow without causing embarrassment, regret and disappointment?

Evidently, someone wiser might have reminded Cardoso and others from the group what teaches us the issue 533 of The Spirit’s Book, reproduced below:

533. Can spirits make you obtain the wealth they ask that just happen?

"Sometimes,
as evidence. Almost always, however, refused, as the child refuses to fulfill a request inconsiderate. "

The initiative was, however, taken. What motivated the mentor of the group, when the subject came to the fore again, telling him:

-
My brother, rest easy. Your petition is quite inspired. Your intention is constructive. We will indicate a way to a treasure in the ground.

Hearing
such words, the small assembly was alarmed, fearing a hoax was occurring. José Cardoso, however, was happy.

The mentor
then explained:

- Cardoso, look for your yard. In addition to the paved courtyard, off the kitchen, you see every day large patch of dark earth, the sedge is involved. Cave there, my friend.

José Cardoso carefully noted the direction and the next day, in the morning he began to dig, and dug until he was exhausted. To his disappointment, he found no sign of hidden treasure.

At the following psychic meeting, he challenged the spiritual mentor, who explained that he had dug well and that the road to wealth was ready. In the face of general curiosity, added:

- Plant a foot of orange tree in the hole you dug, water it and treat it with love and soon you will have the treasure you seek, because an orange, Cardoso, is the principle of an orange tree ...

The lesson of the story told by Hilário Silva is subtle, but serves as a warning to those hoping to find a solution into Spiritism to their material or spiritual problems.

In cases of
obsession, is very common family put the person in troubled at the Spiritism Centre and wait with arms folded, his healing.

The
spiritual mentors inspire us, help us, encourage us, but it is well to remember that we are the ones embodied and, therefore, we have to solve problems stemming from our presence in this plan.

Transfer
to a protective spiritual task that belongs to us is an unfortunate misconception that cannot stand in any of the teachings contained in the doctrine codified by Allan Kardec and developed, among others, Denis, Delanne, Emmanuel, Joanna de Angelis and Andre
Luiz.
