A chat with the journalist Martha Rios Guimarães

What it is and it is not a priority, this is the title of the editorial this week that remarks Marilise Bürger Escobar article and her strangeness with respect to the emphasis given by the rulers of our country, the issue of homophobia at the expense of other more serious problems affecting Brazilian society.

Our interview this week is the journalist Martha Rios Guimarães, São Paulo-SP, which tells us, in an interview with the contributor Wellington Balbo on the important work of the Spirit Center Gabriel Ferreira and the USE - the Union of Spiritist Societies State of Sao Paulo.

Dedicated
to the activity of children and youth evangelism, the colleague from São Paulo - better known as the spiritist Marthinha - works also with great ease, in the area of communication and, as such, part of the team that produces the well-known newspaper The Spiritist Leader, edited by USE.

In the Special of the week, one of the highlights of this edition, the fellow Gerson Monteiro Simões presents the final part of his article titled Homosexuality in the spirit vision.

Brazil's debut in theaters next Friday, March 7, The Movie of the Spirits, which features well-known artists in its cast, like Reinaldo Rodrigues, Nelson Xavier, Ana Rosa and Luciana Gimenez, as shown in a special report that integrates this edition and is also one of the highlights of the week.

On this date - October 2 - was born in the village Ayerbe, Huesca province, in northern of Spain, in 1860, Angel Aguarod, who became interested in Spiritualism in 1880 and became one of its greatest promoters in Spain, Argentina and in Brazil, where he settled in 1915 in Porto Alegre.

In this capital city, he served in various societies and collaborated in the magazine "Eternity," which he later became the director until it last publication. The magazine began an intense campaign for the union of the spiritists of Rio Grande, a campaign that was successful with the foundation on 17 February 1921, the Spiritist Federation of Rio Grande do Sul, whose destinies were presided until 1927.
