48. The sailors try to leave the ship, but Paul stops them - during the fourteenth night while the vessel was dragged across the Adriatic, about midnight the sailors suspected that they were near land. Launching a probe, found that the depth was twenty fathoms, and soon after made to launch it and measured fifteen fathoms. Afraid of hitting against the rocks, they played the four anchors from the stern, sighing forward to brighten the day. At this point, the sailors decided to abandon ship, and, pretending they were going to play the anchors from the bow, were already falling into the sea the lifeboat, when Paul said to the officer and his soldiers: "If they do not get on board, not No salvation for you. " The soldiers cut then tether the boat, and dropped into the sea. Decided to wait, so the daylight, while Paul recommended to all who took some food, saying: "It's been fourteen days in expectation of complete fasting and have not tasted anything. I advise you to eat something, because this is for your salvation. None of you will lose one hair of his head. " That said, he took bread, gave thanks to God before all, he departed and began to eat. Seeing this, everyone perked up and ate well. (Acts, 27:27 to 27:36.) 

49. The ship runs aground, and all are welcomed on the island of Malta - Early morning, sailors dropped their anchor and dropped into the sea, putting the ship toward a creek that they discerned in the immediate vicinity. The ship slipped, but all of a sudden hit a sandbar and ran aground. The bow was stuck and trapped, and the stern began to suffer the violence of the waves, is disjointed. The ship was thus irretrievably lost. The soldiers then decided to kill the prisoners not to escape by swimming, but the officer, desiring to save Paul, kept them from carrying out such intent. Then he ordered those who could swim were the first to jump into the water and reach the land, while the others followed, some on tables, others on the wreck, so that all reached the shore safely. Unwittingly, they were on an island called Malta, where the natives have treated them with extraordinary goodwill. (Acts 27:40 to 28:2.) 

50. In Rome, Paul was greeted by his brothers and revives - Paul and his traveling companions were in Malta for three months until he boarded a ship from Alexandria who had spent the winter there. Upon arrival in Rome, the brothers of the city, informed about the coming of the Apostle of the Gentiles, were to meet up the forum Appius and Three Taverns. Seeing them, Paul thanked God and revived. Once the capital of the empire, Paul was allowed to live in own home with a soldier to save it, staying in town for two years. (NR: In a note placed in his edition of the New Testament, Loyola's Edition states that the term by two years means that Paul was probably in Rome until the year 63. Luke ends well at this point, his narrative, leaving the show What happened to Paul after that. From other sources, says that the agency, Paul would have been released and has done some missionary excursions, after being arrested again and finally beheaded, at 67 years, under the reign of Nero.) Paul went to see him, and prayed, laid hands on him, and healed. (Acts 28:8). 

3. What consequences had the healing of Publius' father?  

As soon as the news spread of healing, came to him the other people on the island who had diseases, and they were healed. Paul was then awarded with many honors and having to navigate, the sites received the necessary provisions for the trip. (Acts 28:9 and 28:10.) 

4. In Rome, where Paul was imprisoned?  

As soon as he arrived in Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard, but he allowed Paul to live on their own part with the soldier guarding him. (Acts, 28:11 to 28:16.) 

5. How old was Paul in Rome? And he did there during that time?  

Paul spent two whole years in his own rented house, and received all that came to him, preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching all those things which the Lord Jesus Christ, without hindrance. (Acts, 28:17 to 28:31.)
