Scourges are back in the news; how to understand them?

Destructive scourges, a spiritist perspective is the title of this issue’s editorial that talks about last week’s earthquake in Japan and its possible causes, in accordance with what the spiritual doctrine teaches us.

Among the highlights of the week, we call the reader's attention to an interview the colleague Adenáuer Novaes, from Salvador-BA, granted to our collaborator Guaraci Lima Silveira. In the interview, the well-known speaker and writer talks about Spiritism and Psychology and explains the differences between the theories of Sigmund Freud and Carl Gustav Jung.

Another highlight of the edition is the special article by Marcos Paulo de Oliveira Santos, from Taguatinga-DF, on the theme “Death”. In his article, which will be presented in this magazine in 3 parts, the author first asks: Are we sufficiently educated about death? In the next two parts, the theme is further developed with the needed clarity and objectivity.

Under the sponsorship of the USI - Unione Spiritica Italiana, a seminar on Obsession, taught by the colleague Humberto Werdine, has held on March 6th, in Lecco, Italy, as described in the special report included in this issue and also one of its highlights.

On a day like today - March 20th - was born Daniel Dunglas Home, in Currie, near Edinburgh, Scotland. The year was 1833. Home, who died in June 1886, is considered one of the greatest physical effects mediums in history.
