There is no mistake in the Census 2010

Contrary to the information released on the internet by many contributors and readers of this magazine, please note that the IBGE did not make a mistake when setting the rules for the census which is being carried out in Brazil since early August. This is the theme of this week’s editorial entitled The IBGE was right; we have jumped to conclusions.

The main highlight of this edition is the interview conceded by our confrere Marcelo Henrique Pereira, from Florianópolis-SC, to our colleague Antonio Nascimento. Marcelo manages the Associação Brasileira de Divulgadores do Espiritismo (Association of Brazilian Spiritist Disseminators), during the interview he talks about his career in the Spiritist movement and analyzes the work of disseminating the Spiritist Doctrine in our country.

Another highlight is the special entitled "Metaneurologia - A Spiritual Vision of the Brain," written by our confrere Nubor Facure Orlando, from Campinas (SP). The study was divided into two partes, the first part was published last week.

A survey conducted by organizations Candeia, which was published in 2000,  about the best spiritist books published in the 20th century has appointed "Nosso Lar" ("The Astral City"), by Andre Luiz, as the best book. The full article is part of this edition and one of its highlights.

On August 15th, two major events have happened in Brazil.

In 1905, it was founded The Clarim Publishing House, based in Matão-SP, created by Cairbar de Souza Schutel. The publishing house edits the newspaper O Clarim (since 1905) and the International Magazine of Spiritism (since 1925), two of the most important spiritist journals that exist in the world.

The other one was the foundation of The Mansion of the Way , in 1952, a social work which has provided housing, education, and care for children. It is located in Salvador, Bahia, and was created by the confreres Divaldo Franco and his cousin Nilson de Souza Pereira. The Mansion is one of the most important philanthropic institutions existing in Brazil.
