What the pastor Nehemias Marien said about Spiritism

Death and disembodiment are different things. Death relates to the body whose life came to an end. Disembodiment relates to the soul and its detachment from the body. This is theme of this week’s editorial entitled Disembodiment and its nuances.

One of the highlights of the week is the interview conceded by our confrere Nélio Vicente Costa to our colleague Orson Peter Carrara. Nélio lives in the city of Caruaru (Pernambuco state) and is part of the team of workers of the Spiritist Centre Home of Jesus, which he has founded and chairs. He has acquired great experience by working for other spiritist institutions. During this interview, he talks about his work in the spiritist movement and about the spiritist movement in his hometown.

Another highlight of the week is the conclusion of the special from Leonardo Marmo Moreira, who analyzes the speculations on reincarnation in the Spiritist Movement, specifically the hypothesis that Chico Xavier and Allan Kardec would be the reincarnation of the same Spirit.

In 2002, in an interview conceded to Fatima Farias, from João Pessoa (Paraiba state), the well-known presbyterian pastor Nehemias Marien has admitted his belief in reincarnation and in the possibility of communicating with the spiritual world, as shown in a special report which is part of this issue and is one of the highlights of the week.

On the 16th july it is celebrated the birth anniversary of Clare, who was religious and disciple of Francis of Assisi, a fact that occurred in 1194 in Assisi, Italy. Called by the Catholics of St. Clare of Assisi, she was the founder of the female branch of the Franciscan Order. According to some, Clare was one of the incarnations of the Spirit of Joanna de Angelis, as the reader can see by accessing this link: http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joanna_de_Ângelis/.
