Abortion and excommunication
in the agenda

According to the question 359 from The Spirits’ Book by Allan Kardec, if a woman is in risk of death during her pregnancy, the abortion is perfectly allowed, since, as taught by the immortals, is preferable to sacrifice the being who still does not exist than sacrifice the mother’s life. That is what occurred with a 9-year-old girl who got pregnant from a rape, subject focused in this week editorial, entitled “The girl and the abortion”. In regard to the excommunication of the personage in the case, the theme is examined by our confrere Milton R. Medran Moreira.

Rooted in the German town of Denkershausen, Fernanda Marinho Göbel says, during the interview conceded to the journalist Katia Fabiana Fernandes, from London, how the Spiritist Movement emerged and how it is progressing in Germany. The interview is one of the headlines in this edition.

Wellington Balbo writes about the Carnival, a feast of pagan origin which has the Brazilian people affinity. In this article, which is another headline, the author talks about the spiritual blemishes related to the Momo festival.

On March 9th in Basel, Switzerland, the professor Cesar Reis, from Rio de Janeiro, has started a series of lectures taken to two European countries, as says Claudia Werdine, our correspondent in Europe, in her special report which is also a headline in this edition.

The event is promoted by the Spiritist Federation of Paraná State and this year counted on the participation of five speakers: Divaldo Franco, Raul Teixeira, Cosme Massi, Sandra Borba and Alberto Almeida. A special report about the Conference written by our correspondent Claudia Rojas, from Curitiba, will be the one of the headlines in the next edition.
