Serenity is the guarantee
of success

The title above has been extracted from a sentence taken down by André Luiz in the book “Nosso Lar”, in which this author talks about fear and its consequences, which is discussed in the leading article of this issue, entitled “Fear and its effects in our world”.

In this issue you will see the latter part of the interview that was delivered to us by our dear confrere José Raul Teixeira, in which he responds to several questions about the Spiritist movement in Brazil and abroad. In the previous issue, the interview focused on current affairs and the Doctrine. As he spoke of the priorities that should guide the actions of Spiritist, Raul Teixeira was clear: “The major priority of a Spiritist is to acquire indispensable knowledge of the Spiritist principles and be brave enough to keep to them”.

Another highlight of this issue is the Special entitled “Jesus’ Sermons”, in which our confrere Leda Maria Flaborea, from São Paulo (SP), analyzes four sermons made by Jesus – the Sermon on the Mount, also called as Beatitudes, the Prophetical Sermon, the Sermon at the Refectory and the Sermon of the Eight “Woes”.

The writer and book illustrator Rita Foelker went to Europe for a series of lectures last December, as it is shown by Carolina von Scharten, from London, in a special story that is another highlight of this issue.

In December 2007, the number of downloads and printings of this magazine totalized 46,300, number which rose to 119,515 in December 2008, with an increase, then, of 158%, which shows the responsibility of us all involved in this project, that we hope to keep improving, cooperating of the best way for the spread of Spiritism everywhere on the planet.
