The Kingdom of God and
the paradise lost

We present in this issue the topic #78 from the Systematized Study of the Spiritist Doctrine, that is being presented weekly, according to the programme elaborated by the Brazilian Spiritist Federation (FEB), structured in 6 modules and 147 topics.

If the reader uses this program for a study group, we suggest that questions proposed be discussed freely before the reading of the text that follows. If you would like to study alone, we ask you to try to answer the questions at first and only then read the text that follows. The answer key can be found at the end of the lesson.

Questions

1. Were Adam and Eve the first human beings to inhabit on Earth?

2. Is the migration between different planets a rule or an exception?

3. What does Spiritism teach about the Capela exile?

4. What’s the meaning, according to Spiritism, of the allegory concerning the tree of science?

5. Have the Capela exile already returned to their planet of origin?

Text

The migration of Spirits among planets is common

1. Moses says in Genesis the history of Adam and Eve, who would have been – according to the literal acceptance of the Scriptures – the first human beings to have lived on Earth. Created by God, they lived in a paradise: the biblical Eden, but, tempted by the serpent, they ate the forbidden fruit of the tree of science and were expelled from the paradise to Earth, where their survival would depend upon their own work.

2. The doctrine which proceeds from the idea of human beings of one individuality alone six thousand years old is not admissible in the present state of knowledge. With effect, as theories which identify in the human beings the result of biological improvement, along the millennia, from primitive organisms that initially peopled Earth, are today widely spread, accepted by the scientific community and confirmed by the Spirits.

3. The latest discoveries in Anthropology and Archaeology have not only confirmed these theories but also provided arguments for the thesis of simultaneous peopling of various regions in the planet, through peoples who, though originated from one race – the human race –, showed different physical characteristics, which explains their diversified origin and their independent development.

4. The symbols of the biblical narrative reflects usual phenomenon in the process of development and evolution of the globes and the Spirits within it. The worlds progress through growth in morality and knowledge of the beings that live on it. When a planet reaches a peak in its evolutional transition, the Spirits that did not follow the general progress of the globe and have become elements of disturbance are conducted to less advanced worlds, where they will apply their intelligence and intuition of acquired knowledge for the progress of the humanity of the globe itself.

5. Such Spirits will expiate, in contact with difficult conditions of life in their new environment and among primitive people, their previous faults and the voluntary stubbornness, in order to achieve their renovation. These migrations between diverse worlds of the Universe are transitional and take place with the elements of a people or a planet.

The Capela exiles had an important role on Earth

6. In Genesis, Moses reports the reminiscences of a group of Spirits, personified by Adam and Eve, who migrated to Earth, originally from a planet of the orbital system of a star called Cabra or Capela, belonging to the Auriga constellation. Long ago – according to Emmanuel in his book “Light Bound” – this planet, very similar to Earth, reached the peak of one of its evolutional cycles. Some millions of rebellious Spirits were there making difficult the consolidation of conquests of a people who, in general, was full of virtues and deserved their evolution.

7. The great Spiritual communities, directors of Cosmos, allowed, then, to locate those rebellious entities, which had become primitive, in our planet, where they would learn to accomplish, through pain and hard work, the great conquests of heart, at the same time they would pump the intellectual progress of their primitive brothers.

8. In the pain of their exile and separation of those they held dear, they were welcomed by Jesus, who, with his loving warnings, aroused in them hopes of redemption and invited them to fraternal cooperation for the improvement of primitive peoples who inhabited our planet. Jesus promised to them the everyday assistance and his future coming, to indicate the way which enable them the return to the paradise lost.

9. With the help of those Spirits full of debts, which incarnated in the regions of Earth already inhabited by primitive peoples, the phalanges of Jesus proceeded the improvement of biological characteristics of human beings who would incarnate here and laid out the bases of progress and civilization in the. Living among primitive people, yet in barbarian situation, the Capela exiles felt degraded, conducted to a rough environment, to expiate their faults; but, intuitively, they aimed the return to paradise lost, whose remembrance in the sphere of intuition spread through generations and was reported in the biblical pages in allegorical fashion.

10. The figure of Adam should be understood, therefore, as the symbol of earthly humanity. His disobedience to divine determinations represents the broken laws of good, which men incurred, particularly the Capela exiles, as they let to be dominated by material instincts. The tree of science is an allegory related to the possibility of the man to choose between good and evil, through intellectual progress and development in his free-will, which incurs the responsibility for his actions.

Many Capela exiles keep on living on Earth

11. The fruit of the tree of science, which blossoms in the “paradise”, corresponds to the product of material evolution and is the object of material desires of man. Eating such fruit is to give in to the sensations of the flesh, against the spiritual conquests one has to accomplish.

12. The tree of life symbolizes the spiritual life, is the reference to the conquests in morality and other spiritual virtues, which Capela had accomplished and the exiles could no longer enjoy since they were out of tune.

13. The serpent symbolizes, through its shape and way of walking, the danger of bad counsels which, skirting the obstacles of science, manage to hit the being, as it finds the reminiscences of inferiority in the inner of his heart.

14. Thus, the Spiritist teachings related to the so-called Adamic race clarify the myth reported in Genesis and provide rational explanation for the reminiscences of the promises of the coming of the Messiah, found in diverse earthly communities.

15. A great many exiled Spirits could only return to their planet of origin after many existences on Earth. Some, however, are still among us, due to their stubbornness.
