Letter to the reader Português
Year 2 - N° 54 - May 4, 2008
  Translation
FELIPE DARELLA - felipe.darella@gmail.com

The first Spiritist Centre turned 150 years old last month

One of the highlights of this issue is the interview in which our confrere Antonio Augusto Chaves do Nascimento, from Santo Ângelo (RS), gave to Orson Peter Carrara, in which he talks about various subjects and traces a small timeline of the journal Seara Espírita, which is distributed, originally from Santo Ângelo, to all over Brazil.

The interview is here presented in both English and Portuguese, thanks to the participation of our confrere Felipe Darella, from Cachoeirinha (RS), which has translated it into Shakespeare's language.

From now on, the issues of the magazine will also have the English version on the following topics:

  • Letter to the reader
  • Leading Article
  • Interview of the week
  • Spiritism to kids
  • Systematized study of the Spiritist Doctrine.

Another highlight of this issue is our special story written by the confrere Humberto Werdine, from Wien(Austria), in which he reports two facts brought upon a story about Kardec's tomb, one of the most visited at the Père-Lachaise Cemetery, in Paris.

Another top story from this issue, the 150 years anniversary of the Parisian Society of Spiritist Studies, the very first spiritist centre, established by Kardec on 1st of April, 1858, less than a year after having published The Spirits’ Book, the main book of the Spiritist Doctrine.

In this issue we finish the study of the Revue Spirite allusive to the year of 1859, in which it will follow, from the next issue on, the study on the Revue of 1860.
