Two years later

Experience has taught that nothing resists to work. A person may stand before a stack of papers to unravel or have many tasks to perform but, in a short time, the perseverant work will make them disappear.

So is everything in life. The long term plans, the projects that demand decades of work, as the example of the reincarnation cases show, none of them are possible to be accomplished without work.

On 18 April 2007, this magazine was born and is turning two years old of existence this week.

The reasons for its creation were clearly presented in the “Letter to the Reader” of the inaugural edition. At that point, the 150th anniversary of The Spirits’ Book was being celebrated and, on purpose, the magazine was born in the same day as the main Kardec’s and Spiritism’s work appeared in Paris.

Having passed two years, we may say the magazine goals have been accomplished as they were imagined and the feedback obtained from either inside and outside Brazil has overcome all expectations, with readers across the country and the five continents of the globe.

That was agreed to be labeled in Brazil as the three EEE – Espiritismo (Spiritism), Evangelho (Gospel) and Esperanto (Esperanto) which has obtained an equivalent attention in the magazine. The constructive controversies, something almost inexistent in the Spiritist Brazilian press, have been published according to the example and the lessons of Kardec, who said that there is a type of controversy on which he would never turn his back: the serious discussion about the Spiritist principles.

So, nobody should think that the magazine acts with bad faith when it highlights doubtless points constantly present in the works of some mediums. The aim of such analysis is the quality improvement of the books published and, consequently, of the own Spiritist Movement, since, paraphrasing the famous say by Gamaliel, “because if this plan or this undertaking is of human origin, it will fail; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them”.

In regard to what is performed in the Spiritist Movement in Brazil and abroad, we publish everything known by us and if we do not do more it is because of the language barriers, since the contact with certain countries becomes difficult, sometimes invincible, due to these limitations.

Two years later, the lesson that remains is that it is necessary to perseverate and do our best in order to make this project go ahead and accomplish the purposes to which it has been conceived and created, sure that without faith and work nothing is possible, either in the spiritual plan or in the one where we are.
