Serving to good

Once upon a time there was a man who was very sad, and he didn't know what to do.

He had already worked a lot during his life. He had struggled to earn money and bought a few things that he thought would make him happy. They really cheered the man up quite a bit, but not for long.

After the object was no longer new and he got used to it, the happiness for having it diminished a lot or ended. Sometimes he even got into trouble for buying an object. And then he was sad again. So, he didn't know what to do.

One day, tired of his routine, he decided to take a vacation and spend a few days in a simple house in the countryside, far from everything he was used to having and doing. Only then he was able to stop and think about how to improve his life.

The man spent several days in nature, and when the day came for him to return to his home in the city he was satisfied, because he had understood something important.

Observing the sun, so great, capable of illuminating and warming the Earth and bringing life to plants and health to animals, the man realized that the sun does not exist for itself. He spreads his benefits. That's why it's so important.

By noticing the water of rivers and rain, man understood that water is always in motion. Whether evaporating, raining, or running along riverbeds, forming clouds, cooling, or watering plants, washing away the dust or quenching the thirst of men and animals, water is making its contribution to the well-being of all. Water is needed everywhere, and it can be useful in many different ways.

Noticing the flowers and fruits, the man learned that they also do not exist for themselves. Flowers spread beauty and perfume. The variety of fruits have wonderful nutrients, colors, smells, and flavors, plus are offered by plants to animals, who constantly delight in them.

When he arrived at his house, the man called some friends and family. He asked how they were and tried to find out if he could do something for them.

Back to his work and his routine, the man sought not only to do his tasks, but also to help his colleagues in whatever possible way.

On all occasions, the man began to seek to be helpful to someone, to do more than the minimum necessary, to improve the world around him and the coexistence among people.

The man continued to buy things he needed or that made his life more comfortable, but he no longer cared for them as much as he learned that they were not the source of his happiness.

Now he made it important to serve the good whenever he could. The man became a person who made a difference in the lives of others.

He spread joy, understanding, help and love wherever he went.

And that's how he changed his life and managed to be very happy.
