A year of
contrasts, pain and sudden
departures
The sentence that gives the
title to this text refers to
the year 2020, which is
approaching its end. In
fact, in addition to the
contrasts, the pain, the
sudden departures, this year
ends with the hope that,
thanks to the efforts of
thousands of scientists from
around the world, we will
soon have a vaccine that can
contain the coronavirus
pandemic. These reflections
make up the Special entitled
“Christmas”, by our
collaborator Marcos Paulo de
Oliveira Santos. The article
is one of the highlights of
this edition.
Another highlight is the
interview given to us by
Rosana Silva, from Montes
Claros (MG). She was born in
Londrina (PR), participates
in activities developed by
the Spiritist Group Brother
Sobreira, in which, in
addition to dedicating
herself to lectures, she is
responsible for the

acts as monitor of EADE -

Spiritist Doctrine. With
extensive experience in
Spiritist work, she speaks

On a day like today,
December 13th, in
1963 in São Paulo (SP), the
foundation of the Brazilian
Institute for
Psychobiophysical Research (IBPP)
was registered, an
initiative of the
parapsychologist,
psychobiophysicist and
spiritist researcher Hernani
Guimarães Andrade, who was
counting at the time 50
years old. He was born in
Araguari (MG), Hernani
disincarnated in April 2003,
as shown by a special
article written by our
collaborator Ana Moraes.
