The Forerunner Mediums

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God, and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us”. (John 1:14)

The traditions of the spiritual world say that in the direction of all the phenomena of our system there is a community of Pure Spirits elected by the Supreme Lord of the Universe, in whose hands the reins of life of all planetary collectives are held. This community of angelic beings, of which Jesus is one of the members, gathered near the Earth - twice in the course of the millennia - to solve the decisive problems of the organization and direction of our orb. The first, when our planet was detached from the solar nebula, and the second, when it was decided upon His coming to the Earth, bringing us the immortal lesson of His Gospel of love and redemption.

The mentioned information is authored by Emmanuel in the work below.

Before incarnating, Jesus sent many missionaries to the groups of that time to organize themselves economically and politically, as the benefactor Emmanuel explains, through the late medium Francisco Candido Xavier, in the book The Way to Light (A Caminho da Luz), Chapter 3: “The envoys of infinity spoke in the millennial China, of the heavenly figure of the Savior, many centuries before the advent of Jesus. The initiates of Egypt awaited Him with their prophecies. In Persia they idealized His path, foreseeing the steps in the way of the future; in Vedic India almost all of the lurid Palestinian History was known, and the people of Israel for many centuries sang their divine glory in the exaltation of love and resignation, of piety and martyrdom through the word of His eminent prophets.

Thus, before Him, great commanders trod the ground of the world, influencing multitudes. Warriors and politicians, philosophers like Socrates and Plato and even prophets lined up in popular memory, remembered as disciplinarians and heroes, but all paraded with armies and formulas, affirmations and warnings, in which righteousness and partiality, shadow and light mingled. However, we know that the divine revelation of which Jesus was Emissary speaks louder than the unstable message of the highest philosophers who visited the world.

His coming was marked by a special time. Historians of the Roman Empire always watched in amazement at the profound contrasts of the glorious time of Augustus - Gaius Julius Caesar Octavius, the first Roman emperor - but had not yet noticed in the so-called Augustus the century of the Gospel and the approach of the Earth of the sphere of Christ in a deep vibration of love and beauty.

They approached Rome and the world, no longer aggressive Spirits, but others who would clothe themselves with the rags of the fishermen, to serve as an indestructible basis for the Master's eternal teachings. Those who would prepare the coming of the Lord and those who would become humble and immortal followers of His steps arose from the fluids of the planet. His lesson of truth and light would spread all over the world like a rain of comforting blessings.

Therefore, to welcome Jesus' mental influx, the Gospel gives us news of a small congregation of firm mediums, crucial in trust and correct in the following guideline. Zechariah and Elizabeth, the parents of John the Baptist, the forerunner of the Christ, “were both righteous before God walking without reproof, in all the Commandments and precepts of the Lord” (Luke, 1: 5); Mary, the simple young woman of Nazareth, who would welcome Him into her motherly arms, was "in a position of praise before the everlasting Father" (Luke 1:30); Joseph of Galilee, the man who would take Him under paternal guardianship, “was righteous”(Matthew 1:19); Simon, the self-sacrificing friend who waited for him for a long time, “was just and obedient to God.” (Luke 2:25) In this group of admirable mediums, not just for their advanced perceptions that placed them in contact with the heavenly Emissaries, but also by the blameless conduct of which they bore witness, we are surprised by the circuit of forces to which the Christ's mental wave has adjusted, to expand into the renewal of the world.

The manger then marked the starting point of Christ's saving lesson, as saying that humanity represents the key to all virtues. Thus began the definitive age of the spiritual adulthood of earthly humanity, since Jesus with His exemplification would give the code of brotherhood and love to all hearts. The figures of Simon, Elizabeth, John the Baptist, Joseph, as well as the sublimated personality of Mary, were often objects of unjust and malicious remarks, but the reality is that only with the contest of these messengers of the Good News, bearers of the contribution of fervor, belief and life, Jesus could lay the foundations of unshakable truth to Earth.

So He arrives! Without any prestige of human authority, however, with His moral magnitude, He gives new directions to life, addressing, above all, the Spirit at all times on Earth. Transmitting the mental waves of the Higher Spheres from which it proceeded, transiting between the creatures, awakening their energies for the Greater life, as tearing their recondite fibers to harmonize them with the universal symphony of the eternal good.

By the time He arrived, the orb was plunged into a miscellaneous of predominantly polytheistic religious ideas. Each people made religion a new source of vanity, stressing that many religious cults in the East were on the frank ground of dissolution and immorality.

So we can remember Nazareth with its most beautiful landscape in all of Galilee, with Mary and Elizabeth, side by side, observing Jesus and John. Who could know what they talked about? We assumed it to be the first combination of love and truth on Earth for the conquest of the world. But we know that the next morning, leaving John with his mother, he asks Jesus, "Do you not want to come with us?" To which the young carpenter kindly replies, "John will go first". So after a few years, we find the Baptist in the task of preparing the way to the truth, preceding the divine work of love, which the world would know in Jesus Christ.

John the Baptist testified of the Messiah, stating: “This is the one I spoke of: He who comes after me has passed before me, he is more advanced than me, because He was before me; His spirit is the Father's firstborn in relation to this world, which is already His construction. For we all receive from His grace because we are His subjects. He is the Ruler of the Earth”. (John, 1: 15-51)

It is clear, then, when the evangelist John, in chapter 1, verse 17, asserts, “Because the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came to us through Jesus.” It is important to note that the Gospel begins with the festive hope of spiritualization of the orb and develops in God's new covenant with man, where love crowns justice, with the joy of good service, through inner renewal. His word constitutes faith in human souls, making them glimpse their glorious destinies.

Let us know that there will be a need at some point to see belief and hope again, to gather in new Roman catacombs, to rebuild the Christian sense of the civilization of humanity. However, because we ignore the love of Jesus and the work He has been doing over the millennia for our benefit, we remain in atrocious suffering. We must have ears to hear all that He has taught us and exemplified with love and humility to achieve spiritual happiness.

Our great hope is to do our best, living today with Jesus, in the slow changes to the new tomorrow, supported with faith in Divine mercy, which will meet the pleas of the hearts of a firm will. The Master leaves everyone the Good News, the standard of all philosophies that seek to improve the Spirit, guiding life and aspirations. Then again we will hear the blessed words of the Sermon on the Mount, and through the plains, the hills, and the valleys we will know the way of truth and life.

Gospel learners at the Christian Spiritist School, let us remember the lesson of Jesus: “I will abide with you if you abide in me” (John 15: 4).
