Theme: Nature - Divine Creation

Marcelo's dreams’ world

Marcelo watched the images of a volcano that had suddenly erupted on television at the seven o'clock news, he was amazed and delighted at the same time. It was dazzling and terrifying at the same time; the clouds of smoke, the red steaming lava, trickling down the edges of the crater... Marcelo could not forget it.

Daddy then said:

- My son, the Earth, our planet, is the exquisite portrait of Divine creation.

- What do you mean, Father?

- I won’t say, let's see...

And Mr. Euclides invited Marcelo to take a walk in the city park. It was morning. The wonderful sun began to spread its rays through the treetops. Marcelo, enchanted, began to run through the low bush from where here and there colorful little flowers appeared.

Suddenly, the boy stopped: a huge pile of hardened land caught his eye. Observing well, he noticed that through a small opening hundreds of ants were coming in and out in an unceasing activity.

He continued to walk, and suddenly he was startled by a noise from above; he looked and saw a group of pionus, flying in formation from one branch to another from above trees.

The boy was surprised and delighted. What a world, so full of beautiful things and he has not even realized it...

He looked ahead and saw that his father was calling him. He approached and found that Mr. Euclides was on the fringes of a stream of crystalline waters, where there were many bobby fish swimming cheerfully.

The boy took off his shoes and stuck his feet in the fresh water...

- How delicious, Dad, how beautiful and delicious all this is! And how many people do not pay attention to it...

- It is true son; the world that God has given us is the most beautiful thing that exist; It's a pity that men destroy everything stubbornly.

Marcelo thought and thought... it was true. A few days ago, he had seen on television a documentary about deforestation in the Amazon; in a few minutes the fire had ended with miles of  forest... what sadness!...

Mr. Euclides continued:

- Calm down son, don’t be sad; the important thing is that children like you think differently; those who grow up wanting to preserve nature will be the greatest defenders of the environment and this beautiful world will continue to be more and more beautiful.

Marcelo smiled. In his head he imagined a radiant landscape; the sun shining, the rivers running through their slopes and falling like a waterfall, the verdant field and the lush forest. It was this world he dreamed about, the world he would try to preserve.
