The bread of a thousand men

Mrs. Angela won some wheat seeds and showed them around the neighborhood.

Things didn’t go well in the city where she lived. Everything was very expensive, even the bread was hard to buy. And she had a great idea:

- How about we make our own bread?

Everyone thought the idea was great and they agreed with Mrs. Angela.

- So, we need to get together see how the work will be done - she said.

Mrs. Angela gathered everyone in her house and began to tell a story whose name was "The bread of a thousand men."

- For making this bread, 100 seeds were planted, 100 people watered the land, 100 people harvested the wheat, 100 people threshed the wheat, 100 people took it to the mill, 100 people ground the wheat, 100 people bagged the wheat, 100 people took it to the bakery, 100 bakers made the dough and put it in the oven and 100 people sold the bread.

When Mrs. Angela finished the story, she was very surprised because the room was empty. They had all given up, seeing how much work it is to make bread.

But she did not give up. Prepared the ground, planted the seed, watered, harvested the wheat, threshed, made the flour, prepared the dough, waited for the dough to grow and put it in the oven.

And you know what happened?

A very good smell was going to her neighbor’s house. And it was so good, no one could stay at home and Mrs. Angela's room was getting crowded.

It was time to distribute the bread and Mrs. Angela was very kind to everyone. She was happy to see the neighbors in her house. She went near the oven and came back with a big package.

Was the package full of bread? Not! Full of wheat seeds.

Once again, she took the opportunity to teach the neighbors how to make a loaf of bread and gave a seed to each one.

Since that day no-one else stopped planting their seeds and eating a very tasty bread every day.

Yes, everything in life is like this. If we do not plant, how do you want to harvest?
