Theme: Love for animals

Injured bird

"Who mistreats animals is someone who has not yet learned to love." Chico Xavier

Ana Maria was walking in the park when she found a wounded bird.

When she came to the little animal, she heard footsteps and saw a boy approaching. Relieved, she said:

- Please, help me? I found this wounded bird.

- I know! I threw a stone at it - said the boy.

- How could you do such a thing? - asked Ana Maria.

- Do not worry, the park is full of them - he said mockingly.

The girl wrapped the little bird in the hem of her dress, and ran to find her parents. Outraged, she told them what had happened. They helped her to take care of the little one, who, despite the care, it did not resist. Ana Maria wept in sorrow and was comfort by her father.

- Daughter, you tried to save the bird. It is right for you to cry, because you are sad. Let's bury it here in the park. Everything will be fine.

- Father, how can anyone do such wickedness? I wanted to throw a rock at him too - says the girl.

- Remember, daughter, you don’t fight violence with violence. By helping the pet, you gave a beautiful example of love to the boy. Not all people have a sense of what they do, or a feeling of compassion - her father explained.

Each one has his/her time to understand things and it is not for us to judge and condemn the actions of others. In a situation like that, it is good to make a prayer for the person. With our attitudes, we can inspire others to have better attitudes.
