Spiritism For Kids

It's gooooal!

Eduardo came back euphoric from the game after all he had made three goals. He described in detail how he crossed the field alone with the ball, and made the first goal. He told about the passes he received and how he finished each move that rocked the net.

The father, who listened to everything in silence, asked the son how many passes he gave to his colleagues.

The following dialog took place:

- In the first goal, was there no one with whom to exchange passes? - Asks his father.

- I had people, but I felt I could play alone - Eduardo replies.

- But you know that being ball hog is not cool. Imagine if everyone makes their own game, just thinking about the goal - says the father.

- I know, Dad. The coach keeps telling me this. But when I'm on the field, I do not think about anything else, I just want to score and get along - explains the boy.

- Try to put yourself in your colleagues' place. How would you feel if you did not receive passes? Have you thought if everyone acted that way? Try to change your attitude, be generous and see how good it is to serve others - says the father.

- I've tried, Father, but I can´t - the boy replies.

- Son, this is vanity and selfishness. Talk to Jesus. Ask for humility, generosity and persistence. I'm sure you will - says his father.

- I'll do it, Dad. I feel like my classmates think I'm ball hog and cocky. I really want to change my attitude - the boy says it with sorrow.

- You can count on me for that - says his father, touched by his son's sincerity.

The father reminded his son that in difficult times we can ask Jesus for help.

Being generous and humble does good to others and to ourselves.

Teamwork is key to achieve a common goal because no one does anything alone. When we cooperate with each other, everybody wins.
