The signs of God

Once, two researchers, nature explorers, planned to unravel an unexplored region in a difficult place to reach.

They walked for several days, carrying equipment and supplies. They crossed narrow paths, through the mountains, down to a valley and through a wall of huge rocks. Until they finally got to the place they wanted.

The eldest was an intelligent teacher who knew many things.

The youngest was his devoted student.

Excited by the adventure that would allow so many discoveries, they would pay attention to everything, take notes, pictures, record sounds of animals...

They worked hard for many hours and at the end of the day, despite the enthusiasm, they had to stop and prepare the camp to eat and rest.

They lit a fire, around which they talked about the observations of the day:

- Today was a very good day! We have already discovered many things about this place, - said the professor -  We can say that it rains a lot here and it's hot.

- Well, if we have just lingered one day, how can you know the climate of the region? -  the young man asked, amazed.

- Ah, it’s simple! It's the kind of plants we found here. They are plants that only live in hot and humid places.

Continuing, he explained:

- We also know that there are large and small animals here.

- Are you sure? We saw some small animals but not big ones - said the boy.

- I know, but do you remember the footprints that we took? They were big! That's a sign the animal was big too - the professor replied.

He completed the explanation by teaching:

- We do not always see something, but we can know of its existence by its signals. Just pay attention!

When the conversation ended, they were getting ready to go sleeping, when the young man began to pray, quietly. Unaccustomed to this, the teacher asked:

- Who are you talking to?

- God. I am praying, thanking him for this special day and asking for protection for our night. Do you want to follow me in this prayer? - the young man invited.

- No thank you! I do not pray because I do not believe in God. I’ve never believed, because in all my life I have never had any proof that he really exists.

- I have, so I believe! - said the young man.

- What evidence? Tell me! - asked the teacher.

The student then extinguished the fire, looked at the immense, starry beautifully sky and said:

- Here it is! The whole universe! Each star, of these millions of stars, is a sun. All day long I saw evidence of God's existence. In the leaves of the plants, in the colors of flowers, in the birds that fly, in the sunset, in the joy we feel today...

The boy went on:

- All this cannot have come from nowhere! God exists and is wonderful! Create incredible things! Take care of everything, because everything was already ready, before we arrived. It's like you said, just pay attention!

They went sleeping. And the young man listened to the professor, very softly, also doing, his prayer to God.
