Academy, in Pirassununga.

Last Wednesday, February 7th,
it has been recorded one
more anniversary of the
desincarnation of the
poetess Auta de Souza in
1901. She was from Macaíba
(RN), Auta de Souza was,
according to Luís Câmara
Cascudo, “the greatest
mystic poetess of Brazil”
and the best Rio Grande do
Norte poetess known outside
her state. In 1900, at age
24, she published her only
bookHorto, a
significant repercussion and
whose preface was written by
Olavo Bilac, the most
celebrated Brazilian poet of
that time. |
