Helena Delphino Bragatto (photo) was born in the Brazilian town of Guaranésia, in the state of Minas Gerais, and lives in São Carlos, in the state of São Paulo. She is the current president of Maria de Nazaré Spiritist Project. Helena is now a pensioner. Soft-spoken, she shares the teachings from the Gospel in her talks, which are often combined with the presentation of paintings painted through mediumship. Her presentation put together knowledge, art and emotion, as she explains in the following interview: 

How did you come up with the idea of having the Gospel followed by mediunmic paintings? 

I was invited by friends who love the arts. 

What is the main aim of those presentations? 

To disseminate immortality and the Gospel, to touch people through art, to help others and give them guidance, among many other benefits.  

What is your assessment of that work? 

In my experience with the Spiritist Centres who invite me and the public in general, many people share their impressions and facts about painting that have helped my physical and emotional health.  

Is there any special experience that you would like to share with us? 

Some people ask us to prepared canvasses especially for them. When the canvasses are ready, they reveal that they are exactly they would like them to be. There is the example of a lady who requested a painting to be displayed in the room where she treated children suffering from cancer. When she saw the painting she told me that it was exactly what she saw when she prayed. It was what she could see in her mind when she begged God for help for her patients. “Even the grass in the garden was like that,” she used to tell me. 

What has been the public’s reaction? 

The public has been very receptive, fraternal, vibrant and frankly admirable.
